I got mine new for 250 😀 I and my wife like the hard trigger as a safety and no actual safety. There's no learning curve with a hard trigger. The learning curve is in proper shooting technique. If you are not squeezing the trigger correctly the harder trigger causes you the pull the entire gun. This means those that ditch the sigma claiming it's not accurate could be more accurate with their easy trigger gun if they fix their improper shooting technique. We didn't shoot it very accurate the first time. Then we watched a few videos of Todd Jarrett and shoot accurate no problem. It does tire out my wife's hand and trigger finger, but that's not an issue in a self defense situation.
Anyway, you got a great deal, and as you already said, it's offtopic. 🙂

POS? I googled and didn't find what that would mean in regards to a gun. BTW, I have a s&w sigma and love it.
Piece of excrement. No, it isn't fair to use that term to refer to the Sigma. It's a far better pistol than its reputation would lead one to believe. I just HATED the absurdly heavy trigger pull. I think the reason people badmouth the Sigma is because it's inexpensive, which leads a lot of n00b shooters to buy it. The learning curve is extremely high with a weapon that has a 12lb trigger, so inexperienced shooters get frustrated with it easily. It's a victim of its own price point.
It is basically a good pistol for $350, but the fact remains that it's a $350 pistol. The model 27 I traded it for is a $700 gun, all day long. I had to throw in a small pile of ammo to sweeten the deal, but I still got the better end of the trade. 😉
