ebay from China. I think I now have a pile of extra parts.
I almost wonder if that's where they get rid of the ones that don't pass QC. Just dump em because they're too expensive to fix per the cost of building them, so they get picked up by chineese bloaks, who just slap em on ebay, and when one account goes down to poor ratings, they sink it and make a new one.

I understand now, I have bought 4 helis from Ebay all duds, and the reseller dissapeared..so yes it might become for spares, upsetting tho, hence I recommend Amazon as has a good refund policy.Let me know if you are going to buy another Syma and we will help you get a genuine one

Where did you buy from? think CPD is pretty spot on with what might be the problem, can you return it for another or a refund?

Well, for changing the channel on the heli, you turn it on, and bind it to the remote. Whichever channel the remote is on, the heli will bind to. That's a common question and misconception--there is no need to change it on the heli.
Now, for the problem at hand. First question is, is it within a return period? If it is, that's your easiest bet. If it is not, double, triple, and quadruple check the board for mis-connections, bad connections, cracks, delaminations, cracks in solder joints, and anything that just doesn't look right. My money is on a short between the battery and the motors. Whether it's from a crack in the board causing a jump, excessive solder somewhere, or a blown out component on the board, that seems like the most likely thing to cause such an issue when it's not the remote.
The remote was not dropped. In fact the blades turn if the battery has any charge even with the remote off and in another room. I charge it with a usb cable. I do not believe this is a remote problem. A few flight before, the S107 would just die mid-flight for no apparent reason with a fully charged battery.
For information, how does one change the channel on the helicopter?
Have you dropped your remote at all, maybe try different channel on remote and put new batteries in remote, do you charge heli via remote or usb cable?

This is my first S107G. After a week a flying with some minor indoor mishaps, it will not turn off. The upper rotor continues to spin until the batteries discharge. The LEDs are off. If fully charged, I can still use the remote, the LEDs will light and it will fly. I took off the cowling and everything is connected. The only advice I can find on line is to save it for parts. Seems like a waste of a new unit.
Any sage advice would be greatly appreciated.
