One of the great things I like about these wee birds is that when they start to get a bit tired and worse for ware you can disassemble, modify, replace parts then reassemble them again. All great fun… I would like to say here that is imperative to not over tighten any losened screw on reassembly.

Replacing the rear tail rotor with Picooz tail rotor was easy, I just had to be careful removing the original tail rotor as the motor can pull out like you mentioned in the video clip 'Syma S107 modifications'.

With the tail motor not inverted I found that the forward motion has improved immensely. I have tried both positions but decided to keep the tail motor in its original position so I didn't need to shift the rear tail skid. This works for me.

The S032 controller has a beginner/advanced button option on it. I am thinking that maybe some day Syma cold put a Picooz tail rotor in the box as an alternative beginner/advanced spare option. Food for thought!

Bingo! And that doesn't happen to me very often these days. I found the very tail rotor prop you recommend amongst some older birds in the parts box and have replaced the original tail rotor with it.  The  difference to the forward motion is amazing, almost to the point that I can see why Syma don't factory install these prop's. I tried the inverted tail rotor as per video clip you recommend and found no difference to the original set up with the new prop.

All good fun.

Thanks Syma Freak for a great site.

Cheers

@earthsea-if you invert the rear rotor you need a different tail blade-as the lets say turbulance can effect main rotors-here is a mod you might have seen it-also take off rear decal if inverting-all to do with the way wind turbulence is transferred-hope that makes sense Confused

Well, I tried unscrewing and inverting then re screwing the tail rotor in place and yes, the forward motion has improved considerably, BUT! I didn't reverse the polarity so forward was back and back was forward, thats obvious, but the most unusual thing that I can't figure out is that when the bird went forward it went up also and when it went back it went down. These movements were quite noticeable so I have reverted back to the original set up and gone back to the drawing board.

Food for thought;  I would love to see a list of S 107 named tricks and games on this site that we all can practice. E.g., 'Father verse son' Try putting a small book on the floor in an open room, sit your bird on it, then do a one lap ( only one lap ) of the room and then land back on the book. If you succeed then you get another go, if you fail you pass the control over to your buddy. Keep the score and you will find this can get very competitive.

Does any one know how I can speed up the forward movement of my s107? I have tried enlargening the tail rotor with tape and that doesn't seem to work. If I could make my s107 move forward faster it would be much more fun. Any ideas?
