@Ka7ple My advice is not to keep flying the Syma S107 until it falls out of the sky with battery dead-5 mins plenty-Just a small tip replace batteries in remote controller-also remove canopy two screws and check how battery looks-is it swollen or damp looking-let me know SF

Hi Syma Freak,

I like the website, lots of good info.

After several days of flying the S107 4 to 6 times a day, I get 8.5 min of good flight time.  When I start to loose power, I generally land, cool down and charge.

I did open the canopy and the battery looks fine. I am very familiar with working with rechargable batteries of all types. And Li-Po batteries are touchy to charge right. Especially with out a charge controller.

It has been taking 1 h 5 min to recharge the battery both from the USB and the controller (with fresh batteries).  I did notice that the USB light had different "levels" of light. When the light goes on full brightness I unplug the S107.

The flight and charge times have been very consistent so I don't think there is a problem.  It may just be the combination of charge circuit and battery.

I love this little helicopter, I would like to have another one or two.  I am looking to get an S022 and then a Double Horse 9104. After that I may get into the 4ch versions. (the 3ch's are so much fun though) But the S107 will always be one of my favorites.

Thanks for the reply,

KA7PLE

Hi Again,

OK I let the charge time go, and it took 1 hour 4 min and the light on the USB charger did finaly come on.

I am going to try the controller this time and see if it takes as long.

HI Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and new to micro helicopters. I just got the Syma S107 in red. I love this little heli. It fly's wonderfully great control.

After the first charge the light on the USB came on nice and bright. I let the chopper sit for  about 5 min then did my first flight. It lasted around 8 min or so.

The second charge and subsequent charges, the light on the USB does not come on. I stopped the charging after 1 hour. I did not know if the charge circuit had an automatic shut off or not. The heli flew for about 7 or 8 min. I let it cool down for about 10 min then charged again this time on the controller, the light never turned green, after about an hour of charging I let it sit 10 min and flew it for 7 or 8 min. After cool down, I am charging it again on the USB cable.

Is there a problem with the charge circuit? Is the battery bad? It seems to perform great, I just have been charging it for 50 min to an hour. Is this something I need to worry about?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael
