I have now got and flown my x5c and love it so far, I need to try it outside next but am worried that it is so light it will blow away.

Where did you get the information that the 107 was being phased out?
On the Syma website, it still shows the 107G, in fact, brought back in the 3 original
colors and paint-schemes. PERHAPS, the "g" suffex has been replaced by the newer
version wherein the "g" for "gyro" is now standartd in their products, and the
suffex letters are now features, like a camera, or bubble-launcher.
From a business standpoint of Syma, The 107 is a cash-cow for them.
Not only do they make it for themselves, but co-brand for other retailors as well
under different brand names. OOPS, just lost one as Radio Shack went under last week!
I personally have a Toys-R-Us co-brand and a Fire-something that are 107s and work
off the same remote. Even though Syma is exploring more avenues, I somehow doubt
they will drop their prized S107.
Please let us know where you gout this information from so we can look into it!

I'll wait until you can get the Syma X6 Supership open.
It won't fly right if they get reversed.

I was in the Marine Corps from '56 to '60 (not a "lifer"). When I was mid 60s a pain in the neck was diagnosed as cervical stenosis. Not too bad at first but eventually affected sleeping. Given the choice of (potentially risky) surgery or mild narcotics to enable sleeping I chose narcotics (Percocet). About age 75 a pain in the butt which I mistook as sciatica became progressively worse. I'm now 78 and the diagnosis is arthritically corrupted hip joint. I'm scheduled for a hip replacement on March 2.
Pain from this thing got so bad that for the past few months I lost interest in the little helicopters. I gave away two that I used to fly outside because I'm no longer capable of chasing them around. But I kept the S107 and the Chinook which I enjoyed flying around the house and will get back to doing as soon as this hip problem is resolved.
I haven't been paying attention to the hobby for the past few months and I just noticed the S107 is being phased out. Is it replaced by something which is just as good in terms of stable indoor flying? I've also noticed a lot of little indoor quads are being introduced and I will be getting one as soon as I'm up and around. So any recommendations will be appreciated.

There are a few of us here over 60 including me that love this hobby, you sound like a guy that has had a great life, not over yet--as for arthritis I found having some vegetable juice every day like celery and carrots fixed a lot of aches and pains, my biggest problem I like drinking whiskey, then the body aches come back -lol --hang in buddy just enjoy every moment of life

Rbethman, sorry it took so long to reply, but I have some
good news here....I have an X6 brand new that hopefully
I can take some pics of and send you that would help.
Just let me know what you need. Bad news is I work in retail
and 2 weeks before Christmas allows me no play-time at all
to get this done, plus the weather here in the northeast USA
is lousy. Been cold, windy, and mostly cloudy which makes flying impossible,
even on my days off. I'm going to do an in-depth review on here,
once all of this clears up. Meanwhile, let me know what you need pics of
and hopefully I can help.
One last thing...does the nic "Sarge" mean you served in your military?
If so, I would address you as such!

Yep! I have about four solder suckers. I have one specific one for PCBs that is blue. The blue one is for ESD, (Electro-Static-Discharge), that you get walking across a carpet, sliding off the seats of vehicles, and other means. I also use an ESD mat that is grounded to the center screw of an AC outlet cover.
This method *WILL* prevent zapping an IC or other items on a PCB. Actually, the very fine 60/40 tin/lead solder does very well on the Syma X6 PCB. I use an older Weller or Ungar temperature adjustable station.
I haven't taken the copper off a board in at least 30+ years. The boards are pretty durable. However, it does take care! I have a whole bunch of dentist's bits that my dentist provided me. They fit my Dremel adjustable speed tool. I've used it to cot metal, ceramic, and lord only knows what all.
I also have pieces of blank PCB that I've used for other projects. I even designed a piece for 1/10 R/C Electric cars to protect from getting rear ended and bending the rear axle. My son and I raced for two years. We used to give them holy grief. One race my son finished with only three wheels!

As yet can not help you with wiring diagram. Advice I can give on soldering on boards is this reason. I have a DJI Phantom and put into the sea. After many attempts to solder new esc board went to see a friend. First point you need a good soldering iron hot, then as you heat old wires to remove from the board you need a solder sucker this one is brilliant from Hobbyking for $5.90 usa dont use lead solder, mistake I did was to pull old wires to hard without enough soldering iron heat and pulled off like the copper that solder goes on, we had to grind the board to find more copper, my friend is a dentist with perfect steady hands and did the job well, I learn't a lot.

I posted a pic in an RTF file.
Now the magic question!
Will someone with the NEW Syma X6 take a look at the board?
I need to know WHICH Red/Black motor Unit is Wired to WHICH points on the above mentioned picture.
Otherwise, I know sure as crap, I'll get them reversed!
I bought that board to upgrade my very *early* version of the Syma X6.
Now I do NOT want to screw it up!
BTW - I *do* know how to solder! I do NOT use the RoHS Solder! It is pure crap!
I am using a *very fine* 60/40 rosin core solder used by "Tellabs". They build routers and multiplexers. This is exactly what their engineers use. (Yep! I got this roll there. I got called in for an Interview and tour. The Gentleman let me have a roll. Such a deal I could NOT refuse!)
I also have Amateur Radio as a hobby. I use a larger size of Kester 60/40 Rosin core for those items.
I would appreciate someone pop the cover of the newer Syma X6 and let me know which Red/Black motor Unit is Wired to WHICH points on the above mentioned picture.

Hi All,
I am getting really excited with Syma and their breaking into quads and realistic prices. We have already done a few reviews on them as such:
Syma X6 with more to come from JamDJ
Still more to review yet, like the Syma X3 Pioneer and a few others coming out next year. Happy to receive any posts on this, especially if you have a Syma quad give us your views and ask any help you might require.
