@Old_Iron_Spine My heart goes out to you...I remember the days of physical therapy and manipulation,fairly painful but worked for me,especially as mad at 15 no motor bike license and was working in the UK for my brother that had a petrol service business and car sales,he traded in a Norton 750- I decided to take it for a spin,straight through a brick wall,back at hospital-to cut a long story short the physio girls did wonders for me-so have faith,prepare to push your self beyond pain and see results.
Every persons pain barrier is different-faith,mental control,you will overcome,that I know!!
I think we should keep this topic as a banter for all things different from the Syma 107,will organize separate main topic and move these post to it.

It was like being a baby again (not that I would know... <__>), first you just laid there, then you had to roll over so you can get up (you have to get up different with a stiff spine), then you had to sit up, then you had to stand up, then you had to walk with a walker, then you learn to walk without a walker and walk with walking sticks, then you have to walk without walking sticks. And I start physical therapy in about a week or so. 🙂

I take my hat off to you,the work you do is to me a personal calling and without people like you the world would be a sad place.Here in Sydney they have closed a lot of mental clinics and support for homeless people.I do a few days work a week in the heart of Sydney and see so many more homeless people trying to exist on the back streets,some are alcoholics but many are mentally disturbed people-I had a fantastic nephew that became schizophrenic at around 19 committed suicide at 28-the outcome was having mind bending drugs at a young age before his brain had developed,not taken over by deomons but nothing more than a chemical imbalance in the brain.
I realize the drug problem in this world is massive and I really do not know how that can be cured.This might sound stupid or just a dream,but I am a old dude now,but see how much joy a simple heli like the Syma can get young people into a hobby that will create into their future something to keep their mind active and excited into old age,they will also meet great people in the RC world,as I said just a dream- Going to try and get a bit of backing to buy a few Syma helis and give to kids in hospital-guess reason doing that as was born disabled and spent up to the age of 12 in and out of Great Ormond Street hospital-now really great in life-time to give back

People with noise in their heads kinda scare me, being a Christian, I say it's demons. And demons are not good. And that poor Japanese guy... 🙁 that's so sad!
I picked up a 93-year-old man one night, who (I was told) was suffering from severe dementia, and little anger control. As I was driving him into Chicago I figured out that he was just deaf as a post. He shouted because he had no idea how loud he was talking. Along the way he was telling me all of the landmarks that were coming, before we came to any signs or anything. He told me about going to med school in Chicago, his career as an Army doctor in occupied Japan, and then back home, his family... If they'd taken the time to really talk to him, they'd have realized that their diagnosis was complete bunk.
Frequently I'll drive people around 2 hours away, so I try to show that I'm willing to talk to them, but they don't all want to talk. Some of them are pretty PO'd about being committed. Some want to talk quite a bit, but not to anyone I can see. Some want to listen to the radio. Some have enough noise going on in their heads that they want it as quiet as possible. It all comes down to whatever makes the patient the most comfortable.
I am not a healthcare provider, and I'm not part of the treatment process. I'm just a trained monkey who's supposed to get them from A to B safely. In practical terms though, I'm frequently the first person to spend much time with some folks. A lot of them come into the ER, and say that they're contemplating suicide. They get a brief interview, and then they're stuck in a room for 10-12 hours (or more) while the state figures out where to send them. By the time I show up, and they have me to talk to for a couple hours... Some of them really vent. Just like anything, it's different from one person to the next.
Cool. Do you talk to them while you drive them?

Maybe so, but eventually this will probably become a conversation of its own. I will admit that I have blatantly stolen this idea from another site I frequent. One of the admins started a banter thread a few years ago. that thread is currently up to 363 pages, and all of us who use it are pretty good friends now. It's a natural reaction for us to keep the chit-chat in the banter thread, to keep on-topic elsewhere. Here's a link to that thread, and you may notice that I was almost offended by the idea in the beginning.

You want to open a museum, or something? I mostly go for the newer tacticool-type stuff, but I do have a Mosin-Nagant. At $100, you almost have to.

What do you do now? I really don't know what I want to do.. Phlebotomy, x-ray tech, airliner pilot, helicopter mechanic, helicopter pilot, chef, restauranteer.. That's all that appeals to me..
I work for an ambulance service, in a non-emergency capacity. I transfer psychiatric patients between facilities. I work on-call on the overnight shift, so that's why I tend to be online at odd hours.

Tell me about it! I've been a professional driver for most of my adult life. I am positive that people drive worse around any vehicle with a logo on the side, hoping that they'll get to cash in on a big fat lawsuit if they get in an accident with a vehicle owned by some "rich corporation." Nowadays I drive a car at work, and it looks an awful lot like a police cruiser. People drive much differently around me in this car.
There is a lot of topic drift in some of the topics, and I will plead guilty for being a part of a great deal of it. We have gathered here because we share a common interest, and I think it's only natural that we would try to get to know more about each other, and do some general BS-ing. Here's my proposed solution:
When a thread gets into danger of derailment, let's move the conversation over here. Just quote the post to which you're responding, then copy & paste it over here, and carry on. We can still have our friendly banter, but not detract from topics on which people may be seeking help. I've seen this work quite well on other sites.
