It has entered my beady little mind that foward and reverse flight speed might be enhanced by remounting the tail rotor 90 degrees so that the rotor would be akin to a pusher prop on an airplane.
This looked for me as a good idea and I did some tests.
Just removed the tail motor out of his holder and fixed it under 90 degrees with a piece of tape. You can do it in two minutes. Take a look at the next pictures.
But...
Not any improvement in forward or backward speed. He even hardly moved anymore. So, this is not bringing the improvements we are looking for.
I have a few 107G where have bent tail boom upwards and reversed tail motor with bigger blade, landing is a slight problem but goes forward a bit quicker

It has entered my beady little mind that foward and reverse flight speed might be enhanced by remounting the tail rotor 90 degrees so that the rotor would be akin to a pusher prop on an airplane. The problem I see with the stock set-up is that as the tail rotor tries to tilt the craft's tail upwards for foward flight or downwards for backward flight, the ballance bar fights the tilt and mostly nullifies the tail rotor's action due to gyroscopic action. Has anyone tried this modification?
