Hello, and welcome! The answer is yes and no. Unlike traditional helicopters, these little guys use a second set of main rotors to keep gyroscopic stability and not spin round and round. So, the tail rotor doesn't need to spin to keep it steady.

However, how these things move forward and backward, since they cannot change the pitch of the blades to do this, is by using the tail rotor to lift the rear end and pitch the whole heli to move forward. (and push it down for reverse)

Now, the 800g doesn't need a tail rotor at all, except for balance and decoration. That's because it has servos to pitch the lower bladeset, combined with the gyroscopic effects of having two rotor sets.

Hope that helps!

I am very new to this remote flying.  I am wondering if the rear rotor is suppose to turn when I,m flying the helicopter?
