By the way, im curious how old we all are out here flying these micro's.  Im guessing 8 to 80. lol  Im 58.

This appears to be a grown-up's hobby. I sometimes feel like a kid on this site, and I'm 36! 😀

I certaily will, im having lots of fun here. So far, im convinced that Syma makes great heli's. I think im a Syma Freak now too  :>)

They make many sizes, so it's time for me to start building my fleet. I love their quality.  I have the S107G masterd more less, so next will be the 032, then the 031 for the yard (possibly).  By the way, im curious how old we all are out here flying these micro's.  Im guessing 8 to 80. lol  Im 58. Im also curious how many out there fly the big one's or used to.

I seriously think the micro's are just as fun, and one heck of alot cheaper and less hassel. I don't miss the mess, maintainance, or occassional heartbreak when ya drill $500 to $1000 into the dirt because a servo fails. Grrrrrrrr...

Nope, this is where it's at. Super inexpensive, and these don't fly into a million pieces if ya munch em  :>)

I had my first crash !  hahahaha !  Damm throttle spring... thumb slipped off the stick and I got back on the throttle just in time to lessen the blow, but it would have messed up the passengers good im sure. A larger heli would have had a blade/boom strike, and the rotor head would of exploded, parts flying everywhere. I love these micro's !   Dennis

@Freeonthree Am happy you are happy with the 107G, just remember to cool battery down before recharging-hey no crashes in 6 flights, that is pretty good.Never bought a Diamond Force ultra durable heli, sorry you are returning it,maybe swap it to another Syma-keep us all posted-SF

Cool, I got the newer version  :>)

I finally ran the first charge down and had to land. I got maybe 6 or 7 good flights out of it. The power was great right up to the end. Thats what I love about Lipo's.

It just finished charging, and it took about 40 minutes.

No crashes yet...  I love how easy the S107G's are to fly around  :>)

Im sending back the Diamond Force ultra durable heli. I was going to keep it if it flew ok, but when I pulled out the tx, the sticks were sloppy loose, unlike the Syma, so im not even going to give it a test flight.  Just feels and looks cheap, where as the Syma S107G is like fine jewlery the way it's made, and the tx, although basic, feels well made.   Dennis

What are the new graphics ?

The older graphics were being put on a lot of clones and fakes, so Syma came up with a new graphics scheme to differentiate the genuine article.

Image EnlargerThis is the original look.

Image EnlargerThis is the new look. If your heli looks like this green one, you can be assured that it's a true Syma... For a while, at least. Sooner or later, the fakes will probably be updated. Wink

Both heli's came today, wow !  What are the new graphics ?  Mine says S107G gyro system below the window on the side, and on the edge of the windshield, it says 3D Full Function Helicopter. 3D ?  hahaha !

I gave it a clone inspection, it appears authentic.  Charged it up, and test flew it.  Way too much fun !

So far, I have flown it 3 times, same charge, and no crashes so far.  Got too close to the bed once, but set it down before the blades hit. Whew !  This is more fun than flying the 30 size nitro heli (Kyosho Nexus) I used to have, seriously...

How can you have fun when you know you could injure someone if something comes apart in the air, or if you get hit with interference from whatever stray signals are present in the area ?  All it did was make me very nervous.

The S107G flys great, is as stable as a big nitro heli (no kidding), and very easy to fly around without any mishaps.

The Diamond Force Ultra Durable Heli came also, but it looks real cheap. Not the same as the Diamond I saw Alishamao review on You Tube. First of all, the box is not diamond shaped, and the entire air frame appears to be a molded single piece. The tail boom and rear strut rods are all one piece plastic,  and the tail fin is even part of the tail boom.

I ordered it without proper research, so I think im just going to eat that one, and hope it flys well, who knows ?

It doesn't have a USB charge cord either, oops !  I'll check the polarity and see if I can use the Syma cord. I do not want to charge off the TX if I don't have to. No more Heli's that don't have USB cords, and are one piece construction.

So far so good on the S107G, it's an amazing little heli, and I love it.  Dennis

No problem on the care and feeding of Lipo's here. Just never had a tiny one before. I think I can charge a 1c Lipo at 100ma ok. Hmmm... better check my Triton paperwork and refresh my old memory... Yikes !  It starts at 600mah with a 200ma normal charge, and 400ma for a fast charge. I suppose if cool, 200ma might be an ok fast charge if I monitor the temp.

How many ma does the USB cord give em ?  Im guessing maybe 200 ma to charge em in 30 to 40 minutes.

Yes, I will have a fleet of them, in case I need to butcher one for goodies. Way cheaper than buying spare parts. Dennis

I read that thread, and saved pics and took notes, so im fully armed to inspect my s107g when it gets here, hopefully tomorrow. I will give a full report on my findings. I think mine is coming from the Battery Superstore ? (Amazon)

From what I've read, and the video's i've watched, im sure i'll not only love flying it, but also maintaining it, or them  :>)

I plan on buying at least one new micro a month. I have two coming now.  Here we go !   Dennis

Yes please keep us informed on your purchase,is always a good idea to have two Syma S107 as when crashed many times you can use it as spares, cheaper. Also point to mention wait at least 15 minutes between flights before recharging as if not your battery will expire quickly, very small delicate lipo battery.Have fun!!

To be honest not really unless you are unfortunate to buy a fake from the local mall or market store,Amazon had a few fakes, however we me giving them grief on dud sellers getting better.Companies like Rcfever sell genuine helis but the postage cost is higher. Out of the box, might say have now over 45 Syma helis fly well-however please read the forum links on clones and fakes and the general happiness people have with their Syma helis- great unbiased advice here - hope that helps.

Dennis there is so much info on this forum that I could give you 50 topics to look at-however have a look around, also you will find lots of people that will post to your topic. I also fly planes and out side helis, the concept of the micro helis is you can fly in your lounge room when it is poring with rain outside-They like all rc products will need repairs as you crash them,I know you would have gone through that-but really important is they are cheap-cost of a pizza with coke-hope you understand what I mean and why they are so popular especially Syma helis-Have a go on the Syma S107G, guarantee you will get hooked Wink

True, but I seem to be going backwards, from big to little. Im concerned about the longevity of these tiny brushed motors and electronics. Can you give me some insight, or lead me to the right thread for that info.

Also, can you tell me how to stop that darn rectangular box from popping up on the left side ?   Dennis

My name is Dennis, and I live in Red Bluff California.

I flew RC for over 6 years and got tired of all the maintainance, especially on my nitro 30 sized heli.

I sold everything except my Triton charger, and never looked back... till I saw some you tube video's recently, and ordered a couple of micro heli's to play with. Here we go again !  lol   Dennis

You will never give up on this hobby, one just diversifies to new flying products. You will enjoy mini helis as you can fly them in your house-Welcome to the forum. Smile
