TJ, welcome to the forum and greetings from a member in PA!
Although we mainly focus on the 107 here, some threads go astray and I wanted
to comment on your bad experience on the S111.
Like yourself, I had a bad 111 I got for Christmas last year. I think the upper blade
connector had a hairline fracture from the start and on it's first crash, it got ugly.
I still have the S111 and did the replacement parts and fix thing, but it hasn't flown right since
last year. Like CPD said, it's a great flyer and I'll probably buy another but I guess they might
have had a bad batch of 'em, dunno.
The good news is: I had no idea whom Syma was when I got it, just a toy, but upon researching
ways to fix, I found out what the S107 was all about, including this forum! Have fun
on here and glad to have you on board!
The s111g was my oldest son's (he just turned 9). It began spinning out of control, but I could find no problems with the shaft slipping (suggestions I found on this forum initially). Previously, the tail blade motor wouldn't spin. I found a wire for the tail blade motor disconnected and soldered it. It held for a while, but stopped working again just before it started spinning out of control. We decided to just get him a Wonder Chopper, which is what we got our youngest son (almost 6), because it seemed a bit easier to control.

In the meantime, I ordered myself an s107, due mainly to this forum. I've since used the s111 for spare parts on my oldest son's Wonder Chopper, so it's probably not going to be returning to the air.
Thanks for the info about the Morgantown club! I'm in Fairmont, about 15 miles south of Morgantown. We're pretty far from club level at this point, though, but I'll definitely keep it in mind.
Glad to have you here! What went wrong with the s111g? Those are very stable helis and don't break very often. We should be able to get it up and running in not too awful long if you describe what all went wrong. (disclaimer: not going to guarantee it, especially with a couple of boys flying and crashing)
I don't know what part of VW you're from, but what may interest you some is one of our members is starting up a RC Model club in Morgantown. Might be worth it to look into his group for local support and local s107 enthusiasts. (although I don't know if you really want to pay as much as it would be to have two kids into rc helis as hardcore as some guys get into them, especially around here on these forums--lol) http://syma107.com/forum/outsi.....lub/#p5919
