Shayne,

Good luck with your S111 !  My intro to Syma was that same model !

CPD hit the nail on the head when he said they have different

flight characteristics. My S111 flies much smoother than my 107s,

and the light show is quite a bit more spectacular.

I'm not an expert on the circuitry of these little guys, however

yours looks exactly like mine so just go ahead and have fun with it!

Ah, yes, the s111g, a fine bird. I do not think those have been faked, only the one chinook and the s107 have been to my knowledge. The military helis have different characteristics than the s107, such as some are slower, some faster, and they seem to fly smoother. I have/had an s102, but it's  kinda retired now, as there's some issue with the gears or main shaft I haven't been able to sort out, and it's really old. The 109 is also a great bird, and the s107 is obviously fantastic. If the s107 is from the same seller, buy it, otherwise, I would see about changing to a newer color other than yellow, just to be on the safe side. The original yellow, red and most infamously "colors may vary" are plagued with fakes. However, the newer colors by Syma haven't had any fakes, but will cost more. (Not by much, just a couple of bucks US) Hope this helps!

One more not is that the s111 and s102 are the hardest to open up and get inside. Just a note.

Well after plenty of time having fun with my Syma clones, I decided to take the next step, and buy a Syma S111 G Gyro 3.5CH 3.5Channel Coast Guard Helicopter from a Ebay seller out of China.

Now, I have read plenty here about fakes but this seller has got pretty good feedback and for the $20AU outlay, I thought it was worth the gamble.

This seller also has a lot of other model Syma's, which of which is the 107G.

So, after reading on here about fakes, I sussed out the S111 by partly dismantling it so I could inspect the guts of it and, Correct me if I am wrong, I think its the real deal.

I have posted some pics and I would appreciate if any of the gurus here can confirm if this heli is the real deal.

The circuit board is red and has the markings, S102R8.

What do the experts think of that code on the circuit board?????

Anyways, if I can get some guidance on this, and if positive, I have in my cart, ready to hit the buy button a yellow S107G and a S109 Apache.

Thanks and regards, Shayne
