I don't even know what that means! Is it something to do with the knob in the middle of the remote?

Thank you for your reply, Buzzsaw.  Yes, it hovers well.  I just can't get it to go forward. It goes backwards or sideways.

The black part is indeed a "spare" rotor and not required unless you lose or break the original one.  As for your steering, Does the heli hover okay?  i.e. does it stay still with some throttle and no steering?

Hi All, hope you experts can help me.  I am a noob. I've never touched an RC helicopter before, as far as I can recall.  I read about the Syma S107 in The Spectator magazine (of all places) and bought one.  It's a beaut. But I can't steer.  I don't seem to be able to make it go forward. It goes sideways and smashes into things.  What am I doing wrong?  Also, there was a spare part with it - a little black thing, - I think it is a spare tail blade, in case the fitted one breaks.  But am I wrong? is this something that I should  attach to the helicopter now? Does it have something to do with the steering?  I'd appreciate help from someone who knows what they are doing! many thanks
