COULD be lighting... have you tried changing the channel on the remote? Only other thing I can think of is maybe your "AA batteries in the remote are low.

My S107 heli seemed to be operating fine the first few times we tried it out today but we now have to be about two inches behind the rear prop for it to do anything. Now it blasts off quickly looses connection and drops like a rock.

 

Any thoughts beyond checking the room lighting? Again, it was working fine in the same room earlier in the day.
