Syma X9 FlyCar Quadcopter Review
Review of the Syma X9 Flycar Quadcopter
The Syma X9 is a two in one quadcopter.
A quadcopter that can drive on the road and then fly away.
Syma has just released the new X9 after intensive testing, there are clones out there one called the SY X25 which has a camera and very popular, even being clones they are ok as not fakes. The Syma X9 genuine original. As you can tell I am really into Syma products as find them well built and priced correctly.

Now To My Review of the Flycar
She comes at the moment in four colors, Blue, Black, Red, Green. I find the black color a little hard to get, but as new more colors will flow from Syma factory.
The flycar works in fly mode and like road mode, it comes with a 4CH 2.4GHZ remote(TX) and has a 6 axis gyroscope which gives pretty good hovering ability, the TX can be changed to Mode 1 or Mode 2.
So you can fly indoors or outside and actually takes a fair bit of wind force which I enjoyed.

Lipo batteries are tricky guys to charge, learn how to correctly charge them and how to look after your lipo battery. Below is a link that might help. I have bought a much better charger from Hobbyking The battery has it own connector so can be charged without removing from quad using usb connector, personally I take battery out of quad. Allow at least 10-15 mins to let battery cool down before recharging, if not your battery will not last long. Also consider buying more batteries as you will need more flying time. I will get a link for them soon. Some Parts Here It

The Build And Appeal
The build is interesting, sure plastic as most quads are built with, but durable with a shiny finish. The tyres are some soft plastic not rubber hence lighter in weight, all ok, below pics on size. Click to enlarge.
The motors are pretty well protected
The remote is very like the one that comes with the Syma X5C and is doable considering the price of the X9 around $60.You need 4 x AA Batteries for the remote.
A quick flying video.
One great thing I enjoyed was flying the Syma X9 at night:Video Flying Review, also Night Flying below.Night flying near end of video.
I have only had the Syma X9 for 10 days so I will be adding more on this review as I put the X9 through some hard tests. I want to see how much the motors can take as they are brushed motors, I also want to try fpv with a mobius camera, at this stage not sure if it will carry that weight, keep you posted.
I do recommend buying the Syma X9 and my preferred buying links below.

Hi,
How do I stop the Syma X9 from going forward on take off? It just propels forward whereas I have seen other people on Youtube able to just make the car go straight up and hover it. Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Nas
Have you made sure she is trimmed correctly:?
HI, I BOUGHT X9 EXPLORERS 4CH 2.4G QUADCOPTER. ON THE MANUAL AND ON THE REMOTE CONTROL I CAN SEE CAMERA AND VIDEO OPTION. BUT I CANNOT ANY CAMERA OR SD CARD SLOT ON THE QUADCOPTER. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? PLEASE HELP ME HOW TO USE CAMERA.
Car was working fine took the battery out to charge it and now when you go for takeoff the propeller spin but the car does not move off the ground. Is there some type of adjustment we can make?
Hello guys
I am currently trying to build this quadcopter for a project but can’t seem to find the circuit design anywhere 🙁 if anyone can help please email me at superchargedup007@gmail.com
I bought the X9 Flycar for my son for Christmas. It worked really well for the first couple of days. Now, the props on the left side (looking at it from the back) do not work at all. There was no major crash. Any idea about how to get them back online?
Hi.Generally a crash causes problems, in your case you say no crashes.Unusual for two motors to burn out at the same time for no reason. If that is the case I recommend you get in touch with the company for replacement X9.Or buy two motors and replace, however doing that will void any warranty.Important when flying any rc helis is to shut down the power(throttle) as soon as accident to stop burn out of motors.
I gave my son an X9 for Xmas this morning and he promptly crashed it into a tree (right at the top which I had to climb up to retrieve it). Subsequently on two of the props now work and they cut out completely of I push it to full power.
Any suggestions please? The manual.seems to indicate an overcurrent problem.
Hi, well you might have burnt out the motors if the props were jammed and throttle not turned off. Also check to see if anything wrapped around the splines of motors.
Hi,
I just bought Syma X9 and straight away I have problem with the stearing wheel when it is in car mode, left-right doesen’t work, I can see that it is trying to move the wheels but it seems like they are stucked/blocked. Is there some security switch for that or?
Thanks in advance
I have not had that problem, where did you buy from? Maybe as brand new you should approach them before you try to repair yourself, keep us posted
This same issue happened to me I remove the top, and noticed that there was a loose white piece that looks like a gear and has a knot that I needed to secure back into the hole.
Hi Everyone!
I got the X9 (Syma), but the remote doesn’t seem to respond at all. When I turn on the X9 the lights go flashing.
When I turn on the remote, the lcd digital screen doesn’t display anything at all. I have tried everything and of course read the manual.
The bad thing is that I can’t return the product as I am now in another country. Any thoughts?
Thank you!
@Adrian That sounds a pain.Have you tried turning on X9 first then remote? Why do you not have a guarantee?
Hi!
My X9 got a problem after a couple of months. It tries to turn upside down when I try to fly it. It looks as a gyro problem, it thinks the car is upside down. I understood it when holding it in the hand, because when I hold it upside down and start the engines it doesnt try to turn over. and when i hold it correctly it tries to turn over.
please help
Have you tried to re calibrate it by turning it off with on and off switch and then put on a flat surface and turn back on and allow gyroscopes to recalibrate?
Can you fly two at the same time? Do they have two different frequencies?
Yes you can providing using two remotes, I tried it seems to be ok
I have just got the X25-i a great camera car and instinctive controls, Love it.
My syma x9 can only fly can’t move like a car, please email me what’s happens and how can I fixe it.thank you in advance and looking forward hearing from you.
Has this been like this from new, or have you had a crash?
I have not yet stripped down the Syma X9 FlyCar.I would imagine there is a problem after a crash with the mother board not picking the signal from remote to change from flight to drive mode. Also I did have problems flying correctly when batteries on remote were low.I will do some research for you.
Hi,
I am wondering if you’ve had trouble with the remote and the car disconnecting when you power down completely. It connects ok, but when we reduce the prop speed to zero the remote loses connection.
Thanks,
Noah
I figured it out–the battery connector doesn’t fit very tightly, so I put a small piece of paper inside the battery compartment to hold it in place. Now it works great!
Excellent work, thanks for the tip.
Do I assume you mean the battery compartment in the remote unit? We have trouble with the X9 loses its connection, sometimes only working in flight but not driving mode. I am hoping this batter issue might be the explanation.
