Drivin-Dave I love hero's,taking on step children is not easy you sound centered and doing a good job of looking after them.I believe we all get rewarded in life when we take on extra responsibilities or help to people- Keep flying. You will do ok!!

I have wanted to fly since I was a pre-teen, and my Step-Dad crashed the Cox P-19 Trainer that he bought me for Christmas!Yell

We repaired it, and he crashed it again! Totaled! Never did get to fly that 2 line rig!

Anyway, I'm 51, remarried, raising my step children, loving my wife and my heli's Laugh

Now spool that S107 up and let's have some FUN!

I especially enjoy the forgiving nature of the s107. I'm terrible at "twitch" games on the PC or gaming consoles, and I get smoked whenever I get into PVP on World of Warcraft because the younger players are so much faster. This little copter responds at a pace that I can enjoy without having to strain my central nervous system.

Not so with my Blade MCp x. That thing is making me crazy.

55 years young and have been flying RC 25 yrs with helis the last 6 yrs.Always flew planes and had several RC boats and RC Cars.Helis became a passion after watching a few fly at an RC meet.Started with some expensive time consuming makes and models I wont name and Have a Trex at this time I fly in #D meets but recently found a Syma S107 and thought it looked good so I purchased it and got it home and was amazed at how easy to fly and durable. So the next day went and bought the S032 at 1/3 the cost of another CX replacement and also was amazed at its flying abilities and now in two days have 10 flights on it and 40 on the 107. The two venoms I have dont fly as well and now have 5 supposed low dollar helis besides my competition models.Love the not so fast reaction times I have to use with the Rex and will keep flying the  Symas for recreational flying and letting others that are interested in them fly them with some instruction,my 8 yr old flys fairly well with it and the 13 yr old is great at it.

I'm 54, at least physically. Mentally I think I'm stuck around 17.

I think the reason there's more of us old buzzards on here is that we can rationalize spending good money on toys - the younger set just hasn't learned how!

The tricky part is coming up with a way to placate the wife. I just bought a Blade MCP X  RTF collective pitch heli, and it's still in the truck. My wife will skin me when she finds out.Laugh

yeah your right there, I've been into RC cars & planes for over 26 years now, but only just got into the helicoper side as the prices are getting alot cheaper now and the helicopers are getting better to fly.

I love the Syma 107 because it's cheap flys really well for the money and you can get parts for them unlike most of the other makes out there. Glad i started with the little 107 as it's given me a great start to flying helicopters.

but even when i do move on to single rotor helicopters i'll still use the Syma 107 around the house.

The other side of that is, there's a lot of parents/grandparents here who bought these for their kids/grandkids, and they're the ones fixing them and wanting info.

(I think trying to stay out of the doghouse for giving broken gifts)

Then there's the casual RC people like me, who don't have the cash for the real big rc's (I enjoy anything RC, but I'm not a hardcore RC'er) and a few serious RC guys who love anything RC, andbought these because they're cheap enough to fly and not worry, and they're built like a rock. (well, a sandstone rock, at least...)

Not many kiddywinks then ?

The kids aren't curious enough to seek out this site, I think. If their Heli breaks down, they'll throw it away, and wait for someone to buy them another one.
