Whoa Boy!!! er let's not get to carried away here with these here home made drones!
However there is a torrent file knocking around called rise of the drones and really illustrates how military options will be in the future.
In some kind of way though, recently up in the North of England some hooligans had set fire to a school during summer break, it was quite a severe fire and had a lot of fire engines in attendance, but the hero of the hour was a local resident who had a quadcopter with a camera a was able to assist the fire brigade with the pictures he was able to get in showing were the seat of the fire was etc, etc. Now that's the type of thing I really want to see more of. Mountain rescue with heat seeking camera etc. Not all drones have to be destructive.
I can't help but wonder what Gerry Anderson would of made of all this tech, Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, we are living the dream.
F.A.B guys!

Hmm, oh well not to worry
Yeah, supernova, I know you can't end up watching it--Jon Stewart, well, he kinda doesn't like any form of censorship, and I don't think the queen will ever allow him to be on the air again in the uk. I forget what he originally did to get banned in England, but the first time he was allowed back on, he just steamrolled though everything major that happened in the UK the way he does, and I guarentee the queen was TICKED.
I can not get it to play-do I need to join something here?

Well, yesterday I saw a very interesting interview on the Daily Show, and I don't care political orientation or what you think about it, but the interview is kinda scary. Nova (for our non-US guys, Nova is a science in depth program by PBS) did a special on the rise of drones, and the woman that was behind it went on the daily show for an interview about the program and drones. Anyway, this whole interview is kinda scary, kinda re-assuring, but overall very interesting. It is scary to think that plans for military-style drones are online for anybody with a few hundred bucks to build.
I'll be honest though, if I had the money, a home-built military-grade drone like the ones she was saying you could get plans for off the web would be cool to have as the ultimate RC aircraft. (insert evil face here) (sans rocket pods and missiles)
