crigon_04 welcome Mike,

LOL, that's funny. You've practically gotten your whole family addicted to these things.

The left stick on my yellow one isn't spring loaded either, but the right stick is, and my S107 is absolutely genuine. They must have changed the design. I've seen some forum posts and Youtube videos, where people were complaining about the spring loaded throttle control, so much so that they took the controller apart and removed the spring, lol. I guess the manufacturer must have gotten wind of this and decided to leave the spring off the left stick. If that's true, I think it's pretty cool of Syma to actually listen to their customers. Maybe they could also do something about the sluggish forward/reverse control. In my opinion, it's actually a good thing that it doesn't go that fast, for beginners like me, at least.

I found this battery mod on Amazon amazon.com/Syma-S107G-upgrade-battery-shrink/dp/B008MQ7QV0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2HHX9L3XUGC4A&coliid=I125DI2SW1Y5CM . Looks pretty simple to do, and it's supposed to increase flight time "from stock 6-8 minutes to 10-15 minutes". I thought I'd give it a try. I'll post on how it works out.

As for what patterns to fly. Practice until you can do nice tight figure eights, and land on something small, like a shoe box or a medium pizza box (you do have delivery pizza in the UK, right?) cool

Hey!

Today I received my Blue Syma 107G. I noticed the controller wasn't sprung loaded, so Googled, foudn the real vs fake information (pleased to say mine is real), and from there found this site.

I have a Twister Hawk outdoor Heli, and up to now my only indoor one was a silly foam thing with a laser option for shooting down my friends foam copters... not as fun as it sounds....

Anyway, I bought my nephew a cheap Heli for his 8th birthday, and my brother spent most of his time playing with it, so had to buy his own, and went for the Syma 107G (yellow). My Dad soon got the bug too, and bought a Red one, after playing with that I thought, yeah £18 on Amazon for a blue one not bad... I didn't realise there were blue £15 ones, so mine came from China, without a box, just polystyrene and packaging tape! Still they included a free travel adapter (that I don't even need for this toy), so I guess that was something for my extra few quid.

So, thanks! After a few flights I want to try and set up a course to make it take, any suggestions? ;)

Mike
