thanks for the welcome CPD! Im going to run some tests on the 331 when I get a chance. I'll test voltage to the suspect motor. If the voltage is ok, I will check motor resistance compared to the other motor. I'm pretty well equipped with a dvom, infra-red temperature gun, small weller iron, mini hot glue gun, several magnetic trays..and about every small screwdriver you could think of. (I'm an auto tech at my day job)  RC is such a great hobby..a great way to escape all the problems in life, and focus on something you really enjoy! These little helis are a great, cheap, way to have some fun at home..anytime you want!  chopper

Great to hear! I think we've got another foaming helinut on our hands! Stick around, and keep us filled in on your endeavors. Videos, reviews, and anything else RC is welcome! And don't worry if something breaks on a heli that's not Syma, I'm sure we could figure it out, or at least as best as we can figure out any issue with these birds. May take a while of back-and-forth, but that's 3/4 of the fun!

Cheers!

Hello! This is a great forum! lots of great information here! I'm 41 years old and I have flown electric rc planes for about 12 years (mostly cheap ones) I have always enjoyed flying them, and working on them. I have been away from it for a couple of years. The topic of electric helis came up on another forum I belong to. Having never owned a heli.. I started researching. WOW! I didnt realize indoor helis had gotten so much better and cheaper in the last few years! In the last two months I have purchased a JXD 331, an S-108 Cobra, and the S-109 Apache..Im addicted!! I already burned up a motor in the JXD...my fault..I flew it hard, and never gave it a cooldown period. The S-108 is a real hotrod!! Awesome speed, looks great, and very nimble! The S-109 is not as fast (nor does it seem as powerfull) I added a bit of weight in the battery compartment, and it is better. It is a great looking little heli! My next one will definately be the green S-107, or a green Hero 288!!
