@Shearichard gosh not flown a S105 for a long time as S107 the latest-is it having TBA-Toilet bowl effect like check out the videos here could also be your main shaft is bent-tighten rotor screws and make sure rotors not spinning on shaft-keep us posted

Thank you very much for your response. I haven't yet had time to check this out but I will do so. Also your mentioning the 'toilet bowl effect' (I didn't know it was called that but I'm pretty sure that's what we've got) allowed me to find this page 'Dealing with Toilet Bowl Effect' which may be useful to others as well as me. Thanks again.

Hi – Just recently our s105 flys badly and I hoped someone could suggest a fix.

It takes off more or less as normal until it's out of ground effect and then it looks almost as if it's suspended from a short (6 inches/15 cm) string and it's swinging around on the string.

Seen from above the heli is describing circles on the floor. Seen from the side the heli is banked towards the centre of it's rotation.

This doesn't last long – one or two rotations and then it loses what stablity it has and crashes.

I've checked some things:

  • Battery on remote and on helo appear OK
  • All rotors appear to be complete (no chips/cracks)
  • Nothing obstructing what I can see of the gears

I'd really appreciate any suggestions for what we might change or adjust.
