That's just cosmetic, if it's the one I'm thinking of. It also would help with some ventilation and airflow getting to the motors and battery to help cool them. If you want, I supposed one could make vents in the nose cone to help keep them and the battery cool, while shaving weight, however I do not think it's necessary as long as you follow the 15 minute rule. (15 between flight and charge, 15 between charge and flight to allow the bat to cool)

Which hole are you talking about? There's a few. A couple are cosmetic, then there's also the one for the LED at the front bottom of the heli. Then there's screw holes, and I think a few others, but I don't have one handy to look at.
