Welcome to My Madness on Indoor RC Helicopters.
I started this hobby a few years ago, because I have always been fascinated in aviation. I found it was a fairly cheap hobby to get started in. I was not really wanting to build a model at that time, but to be able to buy a RC heli completed and ready to fly-Welcome the electric RC helicopter, especially the mini helicopters that you can fly at home.
After buying around 11 RC helicopters, smashing the hell out of them and rebuilding them time again with spare parts, I came across the SYMA S107 also known as Syma S107G.
My Syma S107 Review:
The Syma S107 is a coaxial helicopter, having two main rotors stacked on top of each other.
The picture below shows how these two rotors spin in the opposite direction of each other and thereby cancel out the reactive torque that is produced by each.
Having two rotors also produces a significant gyroscopic effect that further stabilizes the helicopter. This makes this style of helicopter extremely stable and great for a beginner starting in RC Helicopter flying.
The Syma 3 channel S107 mini helicopter comes in a variety of colors, including blue, red, and yellow. However due to being so popular not always able to get the color one wants. I now have a Syma107 in every color-(told you am heli crazy)
Inside the box you get the helicopter itself, sturdy and well made, a infra red remote control with 3 channels built in , so that more than one toy won’t interfere with the other.
Also included is the proprietary USB cable that allows the RC helicopter to be recharged in just around 30 mins or less, when you plug it into a PC. Tip: When usb yellow charge wire pluged into PC will show a red light, check the brightness. When you plug Syma heli to charge light goes out. Fully charged when red light comes up bright as before, faint flickering red light not fully charged so wait. Always wait 10-15 mins between flying before charging to let battery cool down, helps for longer battery life-hard to wait I know!
You can also charge it direct from the remote. The S107 has a built in rechargeable battery. The remote control itself takes 6 AA batteries, so you may need to buy some when giving the Syma as a present to someone else.
It is a Serious Toy for Adults and Kids.
The latest 2010 version by the famous SYMA Toy Company, equipped with a 4-in-1 infra-red receiver (Gyro, ESC, Mixer, Receiver). This palm size S107 Toy Helicopter (18.5cm long) comes with Aluminum Frame and a Great detail canopy, it doesn't look like a toy, but a very serious Helicopter. It is able to move in 3 Direction based on the 3 Channels, anyone can hover it easily. Since it is made with Aluminum Frame, very light weight and almost indestructible in any crash, perfect for very first time beginners. This helicopter is designed for anyone over 8 years old, flight time is around 5-8 minutes after 20-35 minutes charging by USB or Remote. It can fly in 6 directions. They are:

Problems I Found With The Syma S107:
I have to say there were not many-However there are some fakes out there-things to look for is--
1: Correct to have a square type charge outlet on the Syma107 not round-from some forums seems to have a soldering problem. Some fake photos below of rotor fakes.

The main blade holder of fake S107 is made of metal, the genuine one is plastic in pure black color. The main blade of the genuine Syma S107 have a few lines about the warning. However, the fake one only have the word “WARNING"- Something to check. I do own a clone-It still fly's well: Clones are different to fakes: READ POST
2: Out of the box the SymaS107 should fly with only minor trim alteration which is in the middle of your remote- start to throttle up-when flying and turning to left or right trim using the remote-should be one notch-If the SymaS107 spins like crazy after adjusting trim, something is wrong, do not take it apart -send it back-Hence I only buy from reputable dealers, like Amazon, RC-Fever, with a return policy- More below for safe purchase.
3: Can be a problem binding the Syma to your remote - is easy to fix tho-Try this- Switch on the transmitter and place next to the S107. Switch on the S107 and stand in front of the transmitter till the flashing green light goes solid. You should now be ready to fly.
4: Because this is a stable heli, your crash rate should be low until you get cocky- good thing is parts are cheap to replace. (Spare Parts Syma S107)
5: Do not fly near digital TV or charge near one- watch out for very bright room lights,to me this is a indoor heli only and can not stand a breeze out side or a bright sunny day as the remote is infra red- If you want a heli to fly outside the SymaS107 in my opinion is not designed to do this - Having said that I do fly mine at night with no breeze on occasions. When flying inside try not to get to close to your ceiling as air turbulence will effect it and lose control-this happens with any indoor helicopter.Turn off fans and do not fly near air conditioners-Pretty obvious really.
6: It takes 20-35 minutes to charge the fitted battery- this can be a pain as you can not wait to fly this little bird more and more- To charge by remote takes longer and soon burns out your AA remote batteries - Use the USB supplied- hell quicker to charge.
7: Another tip: After a flight with any fixed battery helicopter a good idea is to let the battery cool down before you recharge-Reason being it will preserve the battery longer as they do get warm -That is why I have a few Syma helicopters being charged by my USB- So look for good deals to buy two-Only my view.
8: One small issue I had was flying backwards-The heli looses altitude and gets a little bogged down, it does go backwards but real slow. If you are looking for big flying speed backwards this heli might not be for you. I never fly backwards can not see the point prefer forward and spins. There is a modification on tail rotor. Did try it and yes makes a difference but burns up battery power if flying backwards all the time-Syma S107 left as it is to me just great. Want more from your heli buy a bigger more expensive one.
The Great Points:
Where to start: This is without doubt the best little mother heli I have owned-it is so stable. As soon as you stop going forward or back, she just hovers awaiting your next move-problem I found was I just got so cocky flying the bird that I started to dive bomb my dog who eventually won out by jumping from a chair and grabbing it in its mouth -Pain for both-The dog won, hence I bought two more Syma S107.
But from my heart this great helicopter at it's price that you should be able to buy for around $20- $30 shipped is the best value in life, and will give kids from 8 to a old fart like me at 60yrs old the greatest fun ever- I get excited every time this bird is charged and ready to fly- As I have 6 of them now my poor old computer is constantly charging my Syma 107. I am "Excited"
To be really honest I am amazed at the quality of the Syma S 107 for the price. I would have liked to see a better remote not being infra red and a bit more robust, however it does the job, and again for the price one can not really complain. Have seen replacement remotes for $11 should you break yours-not good idea to drop it on concrete floor!
I am working on some modifications with battery. I have one stripped to the bones at the moment as like a kid want to see how it works so well-you need a small screw driver set for this.
Screwdriver Set What I did was rub a magnet on the required screw driver to magnetize it so able to hold the very small screws to the screw driver, helps a lot.

My Syma S107 is a great little chopper but after a while ofme flying it around it started getting off balance (I think its the balance bar.) and it would take off then spin out after having the barhitthe bottom rotors and making it spin out and crash. I really enjoy my little buddy. Can anybody help?
@Trent Check the little “bones” (connect buckles) which connect ball ends on the flybar to ball ends on the upper blade grips. If those are good the rotor head might be broken. Take everything apart on top and check the whole setup. It’s not that hard to do. -Don
the helicopter will not fly up or down right it just keeps flying around in circles, when you try to make it hover up or down. I have no idea why it is doing this so got any awnsers
I got a Syma S107G from my father as a gift last November. I named Orca S107G vertical takeoff attack chopper. 1 month seems cool. I learnt tricks, made it go 50 meters high. At December an accident got my Syma S107G go damaged. Now it cannot fly. When I try to fly it, a weird sound is made by it.
I have been enjoying flying my Heli Syma 017 for my young grandson.
Lately, it will not gain altitude.
I replaced the battery after reading about letting them cool 30 minutes thinking that could have been the issue.
New battery installed, same results.
Any thoughts?
It is no longer fun to fly as it skims along the carport.

Make sure the gears are turning and engaging smoothly, and that there is no slippage between gears and rotors. If all that looks good, it might to be one of the motors. Usually it’s the motor that runs the top blades, as they tend to hit on things more.
If it’s a motor, you might as well delegate it to be a parts heli.

You could also buy a motor and install it, if you could be sure which one it was. But it may not be worth the hassle.

I just got a new s107 and a box of 4 remotes. I can’t seem to get any of the remotes to sync to the unit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Usually the remotes come with the heli. Are you sure they’re the right remotes?

I received my S107G about 2 weeks ago purchased from Amazon. It is my first heli. Found it very easy to fly. The only problme I am having is it taked over an hour to charged it from my USB port on my computer. As anyone else had this issue? If yes, what did you do to solve it?

Over and hour is a little long. Try another USB port somewhere if you have one. I suppose it might possibly be an issue with the yellow cord; but I haven’t seen that. Is it getting a good charge and flying for 6 minutes or so?

I have had a 107 for a few months now and it has worked great until recently for no apparent reason, never had any major crashes. My problem is with the tail rotor. The main rotors operate just fine, but when I try to move forward or backwards the tail rotor will not spin. The intersting thing is that I can get the tail rotor to spin if I hold the forward stick on the remote and then flick the tail rotor it will spin, but with less than normal power. Once I do this, it will continue to spin on it’s own until I let off the forward control. This tells me that the tail rotor is getting power but maybe not enough to start it from a stop? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Hi There i recently brought the S107 from a seller at Amazon for a birthday present for my father, and he had only had it for 4 days and it has done exactly the same thing. The seller has informed me that we must fit a new tail motor which they will send us. The heli had not had any major crash for this to happen and i have been very disaponited with the way that the seller has handled it. We now have to fit a new tail motor and hope that works. Can anyone advise if this will be difficult to do?

Shawn: I had a copter with the same symptoms in the tail rotor. I thought it was a weak/bad motor so swapped it with a known good motor and it acted exactly the same. Decided the problem must be in the control board which wasn’t worth changing so parted the rest of the copter out. I hope your is just the motor but mine was not. Good luck!
sounds like you may have an intermittent short in one of the wires going to the tail rotor , that’s what I would check anyway
Hey I have a few questions, I’m a recent r/c enthusiast and am looking for a good heli to start, after doing some research it is obvious that syma is the way to go if possible. First off why has the syma website not been mentioned as a place to buy them, it would seem the best place to get them would be straight from the source. My next question is about the estes sf161 heli, there is one at my local hobby store for 34.99, which would be more convenient than ordering one from rcfever, the thing is, it looks just like a syma, even the controller looks identical, the only thing i can tell is diffeent is the landing bars are plastic instead of metal. Estes is a somewhat reputable company therefor im curious as to if you know anything about this, like if its a clone or a fake, and if I should give it a try.

@mason My guess is that it’s a real Syma rebranded, and not a clone. Especially as it’s from Estes and listed on estesrockets.com. If it has a red circuit board that says S107R5 SMLBH that would cinch it. You might not be able to check the circuit board until after you buy it, but the odds are with you. If it was me, I’d go for the Estes. It’s a reasonable gamble. @Syma Freak Estes is an American company. They’ve been around a long time and as mason says, are at least somewhat reputable. And their pricing is high enough ($45) that they don’t need to sell clones to make money on the helis.
So ive gone ahead and purchased this heli, i havnt taken it apart but the red circuit board is evident,
it only flew for a minute or so on the stock charge so im waiting for it to recharge fully, more info soon
@mason No need to take it apart. Just hold it under a light and look at the circuit board through the gap near the charging port. P.S. Use the USB cable for charging or you’ll burn through AAAs like crazy.
@mason P.P.S. Don’t recharge right after a flight. That, and a lot of other good stuff can be found on these web pages.

My Syma 107-g has never seemed to work properly. Right out of the box, it will not hover still, despite trying to control the rudder. I’ve noticed the Heli will spin counter clockwise when its ascending, and then turn and spin clockwise when it’s descending. The rudder control does _seem_ to make a difference, but it never finds that happen ground where it doesn’t spin at all. It was purchased from Amazon and at this time I’m considering a return.
Any ideas? Thank You.

Hey Michael, Mine did the same thing. I did extensive searches to see what was the matter. It hovers andt trims pefectly, but the moment I try to go forward or backwards, it starts to spin way too fast and I can never get it to fly straight. I decided to order a new one to see if it was the way they work. I just got my new one and it is perfect. I am going to see which part (The controller or the helicoptor of the bad one is the problem) by trying the new contoller with the old helicoptor and visa versa. The important thing that I have found out is that YES they do fly great if you get a good one. Order another one or exchange the one you have if you can. Hope this helps, Farmerman
I just bought a s107 opened it up and charged it up.followed the directions but can not find the channel switch on the copter to make sure they are on the same channel.did get it to take off once but now it will do nothing at all.Totally disappointed! any help would be greatly apreceiated.

Hi I have the 107 and I have also found problems with the remote, some days it’s better than others. I think it’s just a problem with this model as I also have the symer s031 and I have had no problems at all with this remote.
Have to say got many Syma 107′s- remote was never a problem unless you fly near anything digital like TV
After flying 1 min and my son touch the helicopter – it started receiving the signal from the remote controller from 1-2 inch distance only.
Does any one knows a solution?

I also have a syma107 heli.
I have problems with the remote control. I have to aim to the heli
so it can receive any signal of the remote control. If i turn a little bit the remote control, the helicrashes.
I’ve tested the heli with an other remotecontrol, and there was no problem.
Looks that the infrared signal form the remote controle is “weak”.
Anyone had problems with this?
I have four of the 107s purchased recently and have found that I have problems with all the little devils when the remote batteries are getting low despite the green light showing. I checked each battery and saw that the 1.5v batteries (all 6) were down to just below 1.0v each. My helis are all flying without a problem now.

What is the difference between the s107 and s107g?
I can’t find anyone with quite the same issue that I have so I decided to ask. My s107 took a hard drop right on it’s feet from about 6 ft. After that it wanted to spin really fast. I checked the gears, oiled the shaft, checked the pinions at the top. Both motors are spinning, and I can take off if I adjust the center knob juuuust right. but if I touch either left or right in mid air it spins the heli super fast in whichever direction that I turned. The only thing that I can think of is a bad motor, but I’m hoping that’s not it as I don’t have a spare.
I got the S107 helicopter today. First flight I flew it one foot in the air then it cut out. Now my bottom prob won’t spin.

Did you hit the ceiling and crash your Syma 107?
Nope, it flew in the air about 1 foot high and the power cut. The bottom blade just doesn’t want to spin.
Suspect then burn out motor-however normally takes more hours of flying for that-tell me more
I crashed mine and the white pieces holding the front shell to the chassis broke. Does anyone know where I can get these? They are not on the parts list.

The on/off switch fell off mine during a crash and now I have to put a pin in the empty switch spot is there anyway to fix this easily?
P.S I have actually lost the switch

For some reason my S107 isn’t getting enough power to fly. I am sure that it’s charged so that is not the problem. The bottom propellers seem to be working OK but the top ones first bang into the gyro stick over and over then they just don’t really get going fast enough to lift it off the ground. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
You need the top main plastic piece, Main Shaft Sheath. It’s the piece that I have a problem with breaking, without it your top blades wont spin right. Look up this piece on Ebay and will find a five piece from a china seller for 5 bucks…..free shipping

Thank you all for turning me into a 107 nut. Your comments are allwaysconcise and accurate.kudos to all. I have found amod that involves removing the balance weights and inserting three #9 shotgun pellets. Seems to he lp stability while minimizing that odd “drift”. Hope this helps. Thanks again!

I own a S107G. One day It crashed when I tried outdoor. It crashed very hardly. Now upper set of wings spins Fast while the other two runs slow. Now I cannot play it. Please help me..
The pinion gear on the axis of your front motor have probably slipped down the shaft. Just put it back in place and everything will be all right.

i own a Syma 107 and a black wire coming from a foil wrapped device with yellow tape, (kj 04) has come loose where on the circuit board does it go . the copter crashed then just stopped working i took off the body and found that wire loose, seems like it should be as simple as soddering it back on but i can’t see where it goes. can you help?
I purchased a battery for the S107 and was using the 7 steps to install by splicing the wires from the battery to the wires (red and black) from the heli. Everything was going great then while replacing the canopy the wires soldered to their positions on the heli came loose. I have no idea where they were attached. Can you advise? There are six possible solder points where wires are soldered – looking in from the front left to right:
1. red wire attached, 2. blue wire attached
3. red wire attached 4. black wire attached
5. blue wire attached 6. no wire attached
I’m thinking 1 and 6 may be the correct ones because 1 has a larger solder point and 6 has not wires attached to it and possibly the black one from the battery may attach there with the red one from the battery to the no. 1 which already has a red wire attached to it.
Also the canopy has no connection to release the canopy so I’m wondering how old this heli is?

Hey, I just wanted to know if you have received the syma107g from focalprice yet. I really want to buy it but I want to make sure focalprice has a genuine s107g.
Yes I did receive from Focalprice ,took 18 days as free shipping.All seems ok even tho motor tops were a different color pretty sure not a fake,maybe a clone but flies ok. Have also ordered another from Rc Helicopter again free shipping.Let you know on that one as well

Hi, my son got the S107G for christmas. Been working perfectly but now the bottom blades wont spin. The gear cogs are all lined up correctly and I can’t see any lose wires when I take the front off. Company it came from will only offer a £7 partial refund as they say they can’t have it back but I can’t see how I can get it fixed for £7 seeing as I can’t solder. Anyone got any ideas as to why te bottom blades won’t spin just as a starting point. If it might be something simple I might be able to fix it. Cheers!

My reomote controller is flashing green LED forever, not turn to solid. I have changed new batters, it is flashing again, not solid. Can someone told me what happen?

I’ve had this happen. Listen to the helicopter, if it doesn’t sound smooth and quiet anymore, then check the gears. Likely some of the teeth have come off one of the small pinion gears, causing to spin roughly, and leading to a loss of lift. Tranny rebuild is in order…

i have a s107g and the balance bar keeps hitting the main blade and knocking the buckles off and crashing i cant figure out what is wrong does any one know what it could be. let nephew use and this is what happens.thanks
I’m having a severe blade-strike problem as well. With mine, the flybar (balance bar) weights have too much travel range. At their furthest pivot point, they cross the lower blades’ path. During severe turbulence or a near-crash, the blades hit the weights, causing an immediate crash and minor damage to the lower blades.
I fear that if this keeps up, the lower blades will get broken by the constant abuse. I’m studying the copter’s design for a way to limit the flybar’s pivot range without compromising weight, balance, or performance.
Same here. It was working perfectly for months and then this started happening. It’s almost as if they gyroscope stopped working.

Hi,
I just got my new Syma S107G, but there’s a little thing that make me feel that something’s wrong: I have to adjust the trim at about 45 degrees to the right, to compensate…but even when the hely is turned off, the upper blades are very easy to spin with a finger, while the other are quite hard. Not so hard to make a resistance to a finger, but quite enough to be different to the upper pair.
Any suggestion?

That makes sense. Something is binding up between the front motor and the lower blades. This reduces the power of the lower blades, so you need right trim. The question is, where is the hangup? Could be the lower shaft, the gears, the front motor gear could be pushing too tight against the gear next to it, or the front motor might even be defective. If you can, I would return it. You’ll have to strip it down quite a bit just to see what’s wrong. And after you know you might then need to buy parts.
This is normal.
Something is wrong with my heli. It takes off slowly (even on a full charge). When it gets into a stable hover, it flys fine until I release the trottle a tiny bit. It sort of shudders a bit and crashes. Even if I pull on the trottle, it still won’t come up. I’m pretty sure it’s something with the lower set of blades. They feel like they aren’t as loose as they should be, though I can’t spot anything stuck in it. (If you want, I could give you a link to a video.)

I’m pretty sure I can see a hair stuck between the shaft and the lower rotor head. If I could figure out how to take it off without breaking something, I think I may be able to fix it.
(oh, and I’ll post a video once I put it back together. It’s sitting in pieces on my desk).
Oh, and my problem is different then the one shown in the video.
Somehow, after disassembling my heli, I managed to fix it. Now I have another problem.
40 min, charge time
3 min. fly time (until my heli wouldn’t get more then an inch off the ground)
3.3 min. till I had ran off the battery completely.
I’ve had my (genuine) S107 for less then a month and I’ve crashed it numerous times. As I already mentioned, it’s been taken apart (all the screws I could find I unscrewed) and put back together. The only mod I’ve done is a tail rotor replacement (I used the rear rotor off an old air hogs– it made my syma faster). Any ideas? (Oh, and I joined the forums though they’re giving me trouble as well. Whenever I try to log in, it just refreshes the page. Maybe it’s a problem with my tablet. I don’t know.)

Its ok! I ve managed to fix it, a tiny little cog had slipped down so wasn’t connecting to the main one that drives the bottom rotor.

I have a problem with my S107.When i bought it it worked perfect.I tries to flay it at home but the propellers just wound¨t spin.I charged it,I bought new battery,but the propellers didn’t spin.I need help fast!!

Not sure about the sites but I got all of mine through Amazon. I look for the store Xheli and try to get most of mine though there. I did get 3 fakes through a different store on amazon but sent them back without a problem. I’ve order over 30 in the month of November. I think Xheli is about the best.
I got 2- S107′s for Christmas. They were bought on thinkrc.com. Everything seems to match with them being genuine Syma’s, and they fly great! Has anyone else bought from them?
Are there any specific sellers on Amazon to only buy them from?
I have a 2 week old yellow S107 gyro. It flew great for the first few times. It has had some minor crashes, nothing bad. But now it will not hover. I get it less than a foot off the ground and then it goes crazy, spinny circles, like the drunk driving and then goes down. I have replacement parts, nothing is loose, nothing is broken. I have checked everything. Any suggestions?? What can I do to fix it?

I have my first ever RC and it started that after several indoor crashes. The pins of the top rotor blade mount were broken.
Lookup a photo for part number s107-13 and look for the two stubs below the screws. And/or, remove the connect buckles from between the balance rod and top blade holder. If the holder and blades fall down, the pins (stubs) are broken. You have to buy the upper shaft assembly to get that part but do not have to replace the entire shaft. Hope this helps…

It finally happened to me! After several hundred crashes, I had a bad crash and broke the pins in the top rotor assembly. With an old long-proven genuine Syma. It only happened because I got distracted and the heli climbed to the roof beams, crashed and landed on a tile counter with power on (modified throttle with no return spring). My guess is that it can only happen in a power-on crash. Thanks to this forum I was able to quickly identify and fix the problem, as I had a parts heli handy.
My son’s S107 survived many crashes, but finally after one from about 10 feet, it will not lift off. There doesn’t appear to be anything broken or loose, but we think it is a little noisier than it was. He thinks the noise is coming from the motor or gear area. The gears seem to be working fine. The blades seem to be spinning fine. We tried charging it longer. It gets maybe an inch or twoo off the ground then crashes. Any ideas?
I am currently having the same problem with my S107. I replaced a blade that had broken, but all else seems to be working find. Just will not lift off very high or for very long.
I’m having the same problem, From what I have read it looks like I charged the Battery to soon after flying it and depleting the charge. The Battery In The S107 learns in the same way a Brand New Cell Phone Will. either you have not let it cool down and charged it enough times it has melted cells and decreased the power output therefor not allowing it to lift but still run 5 min or so. Replace Battery is the only option. To get the Best life. Charge Completely, Run Down Completely and allow a MIN of 15 min before plugging it back in to charge.
Option B: Check gears and screws to make sure all is snug.
I’ve gotten many hours out of my Syma s107 and am pleased the cheap china battery has help up this long. Although it’s been under a month since it was purchased and probably gone through 45-65 charges/flights (up to 11 min) before encountering this issue.
But for the price of this HELI, best on the market for stability, control, and Price. I do suggest just buying a new S107 G so you get the right/left motion control an (3.5 ch.) and then you’ll just have spare parts using your s107.

stripped gears! the rotor spins but due to the stripped gears, wil NOT GENERATE lift…
are there any difference between the s107 and the 2012 s107g that is on amazon?
Just got my third Syma S107g. The other two fly great! However, this yellow one worked good for one minute then had very little lift. When I land and kill power the top roter spins 20+ times until it stops, the problem is the bottom rotor does not freely spin (only one revolution without power). The motor can spin it however it has so much drag/friction somewhere it can not take off. All the gears look good. I can turn the bottom blades by hand, but there is a lot of drag. Can someone tell me what the problem may be. motor? gears? shaft?

With any coaxial helicopter the top blad has a flybar on top with two little weights on the ends to keep the heli stable, that means that the top rotor will always take alot longer to completly stop spinning than the bottome rotor that has no flybar, this is to do with extra weight only thought 20+ spins sound a bit more than usual! have you lubricated the gears? if so then too much lubrication can cause the heli to not lift off. the other thing to do is see if there is any hair or fluff stuck in the gears or shafts.

Notice in unpacking that the rotor blades are not fixed in one position, but are loose, even though the screws holding in place are pretty tight. Is this supposed to be like that or should I be tightening them?

Yep thats how they’re supposed to be. Soon as you start to get the rpms up they’ll straighten right out. Nice thing about the way this stuff works is that if you get into trouble, drop power and any items that are smacked will fold the blades back hopefully keeping anything from breaking. Of course if power is kept on all bets are off and things will start to break from multiple smacks.
Hi Can you please put in a review on the Syma s105g, i have one and have flown hard and have had a great time, it seldom gets crashed, I am into methanol airplanes and get a bit tired of having to drive to the airfield everytime I want to fly. this heli is great for just picking up at the end of the day and relaxing in the chair with it buzzing around after pets and landing on tricky places, I am looking to buy a syma s107g now to see if its anything as good as the s105g. I Want to know if the transmitter from the s105 would work with the s107g can you please answer.

Just picked one of these up from all-battery.com for $28 shipped via FedEx. Genuine article and flying right out of the box with a tiny trim adjustment. Very easy to fly and flies much better than the other plastic one my father-in-law bought my daughter for Christmas. That thing takes a while to trim out, and you have to re-trim it after you try to do anything but hover. We have had minimal success trying to get the other one to fly forwards, backwards, or turn. I have had the S107 for about an hour and it is fantastic. Don’t waste you money on any other micro-heli.
hey my syma remote control does not work anymore.. the product is brand new, a few in our office have bought them as well and their controllers work on mine no problem..
any tips on fixing this?

try opening up the transmitter through 6 screws in the back (one of them is under the chargers hatch) Once open, try to see if there are any broken wires that are visible, especially the two that connect the circut board to the batteries, then try soldering them up but before you do anything try to return it to the shop as a faulty product, Its for these reasons that buying products from trusted sites such as amazon is very important.
I’ve just got one of these and it’s great fun but I’m having a slight problem (I think?)
When I push the left throttle to ascend as expected the helicopters moves upwards but at the same time slowly moves backwards.
I have played around with the dial on the remote but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Any ideas?
It’s a little tail heavy. Try adding a little weight to the nose.
My helicopter was working great at first but now it doesn’t fly forward or backwards. Is it a problem with the connection or something else? What can i do to fix this?
Forward and backward flight is a product of the tail rotor being powered up. First and easiest fix is to make sure that there is no obstruction such as hair, lint wrapped around shaft inhibiting rotation. If no obstructions, hold heli in one hand while giving forward or backward stick. Tail rotor should cycle on in each direction. If that doesn’t work, carefully check the electrical connections to the tail rotor motor. Those are the most obvious and common issues. Good Luck!
Whilst flying my little red beuty it developed a sudden fault. For no reason atall it began to fly in ‘drunken’ circles with became worse when steering. I have not crashed my heli and am seriousl concerned
Mine did that too… take OFF one of the connector buckles from the top rotor. Flying with one buckle will solve the problem. Of note, in my instruction manual the helicopter is depicted with only one buckle (not sure if this means anything).
The black piece at the top of the main shaft has 2 little stubs that stick out and fit into pockets of the main rotor assembly. If one or both of these is broken off it allows the head to slop around way too much, cause the problems you describe as well as allowing rotor to rotor strikes between the main rotor, and the lower rotor.
Just fixed this problem on a heli, ordered a main shaft assembly, and to make it easier just moved the top plastic piece from the replacement part to the old shaft that was already in the heli. (the screws are TINY and easy to lose so be careful)

I just opened my sons new s107G. worked fine for 5 min. Then it now only response to the remote if the remote is with in 5 inches of the tail before it loses contact. I tried to kill battery then recharged it. I also changed batteries on control but nothing seems to work . Any ideas. Please help.
Are you flying near anything digital like TV? also infra red remote hates bright sunlight
