The Syma S107 Review
Syma S107 - My Review
Welcome to My Madness on Indoor RC Helicopters.Especially Syma Helicopters
I started this hobby a few years ago, because I have always been fascinated in aviation. I found it was a fairly cheap hobby to get started in. I was not really wanting to build a model at that time, but to be able to buy a RC heli completed and ready to fly-Welcome the electric RC helicopter, especially the mini helicopters that you can fly at home. Syma helicopters are just the best mini rc heli to start out with.
After buying around 11 RC helicopters, smashing the hell out of them and rebuilding them time again with spare parts, I came across the SYMA S107 also known as Syma S107G.
My Syma S107 Review:
The Syma S107 is a coaxial helicopter, having two main rotors stacked on top of each other.
The picture below shows how these two rotors spin in the opposite direction of each other and thereby cancel out the reactive torque that is produced by each.
Having two rotors also produces a significant gyroscopic effect that further stabilizes the helicopter. This makes this style of helicopter extremely stable and great for a beginner starting in RC Helicopter flying.
The Syma 3 channel S107 mini helicopter comes in a variety of colors, including blue, red, and yellow. However due to being so popular not always able to get the color one wants. I now have a Syma107 in every color-(told you am heli crazy)
Inside the box you get the helicopter itself, sturdy and well made, a infra red remote control with 3 channels built in , so that more than one toy won’t interfere with the other.
Also included is the proprietary USB cable that allows the RC helicopter to be recharged in just around 30 mins or less, when you plug it into a PC. Tip: When usb yellow charge wire pluged into PC will show a red light, check the brightness. When you plug Syma heli to charge light goes out. Fully charged when red light comes up bright as before, faint flickering red light not fully charged so wait. Always wait 10-15 mins between flying before charging to let battery cool down, helps for longer battery life-hard to wait I know!
You can also charge it direct from the remote. The S107 has a built in rechargeable battery. The remote control itself takes 6 AA batteries, so you may need to buy some when giving the Syma as a present to someone else.
It is a Serious Toy for Adults and Kids.
The latest 2010 version by the famous SYMA Toy Company, equipped with a 4-in-1 infra-red receiver (Gyro, ESC, Mixer, Receiver). This palm size S107 Toy Helicopter (18.5cm long) comes with Aluminum Frame and a Great detail canopy, it doesn't look like a toy, but a very serious Helicopter. It is able to move in 3 Direction based on the 3 Channels, anyone can hover it easily. Since it is made with Aluminum Frame, very light weight and almost indestructible in any crash, perfect for very first time beginners. This helicopter is designed for anyone over 8 years old, flight time is around 5-8 minutes after 20-35 minutes charging by USB or Remote. It can fly in 6 directions. They are:
- Rotate Clockwsie / Anti-Clockwise
- Move Forward / Backward
- Move Up / Down
Flexible blades & balance bar-less damage on crashing.

Problems I Found With The Syma S107:
I have to say there were not many-However there are some fakes out there-things to look for is--
1: Correct to have a square type charge outlet on the Syma107 not round-from some forums seems to have a soldering problem. Some fake photos below of rotor fakes.
Fake
Fake Syma 107 Info As Below
The main blade holder of fake S107 is made of metal, the genuine one is plastic in pure black color. The main blade of the genuine Syma S107 have a few lines about the warning. However, the fake one only have the word “WARNING"- Something to check. I do own a clone-It still fly's well: Clones are different to fakes: READ POST
2: Out of the box the SymaS107 should fly with only minor trim alteration which is in the middle of your remote- start to throttle up-when flying and turning to left or right trim using the remote-should be one notch-If the SymaS107 spins like crazy after adjusting trim, something is wrong, do not take it apart -send it back-Hence I only buy from reputable dealers, like Amazon
3: Can be a problem binding the Syma to your remote - is easy to fix tho-Try this- Switch on the transmitter and place next to the S107. Switch on the S107 and stand in front of the transmitter till the flashing green light goes solid. You should now be ready to fly.
4: Because this is a stable heli, your crash rate should be low until you get cocky- good thing is parts are cheap to replace. (Spare Parts Syma S107)
5: Do not fly near digital TV or charge near one- watch out for very bright room lights,to me this is a indoor heli only and can not stand a breeze out side or a bright sunny day as the remote is infra red- If you want a heli to fly outside the SymaS107 in my opinion is not designed to do this - Having said that I do fly mine at night with no breeze on occasions. When flying inside try not to get to close to your ceiling as air turbulence will effect it and lose control-this happens with any indoor helicopter.Turn off fans and do not fly near air conditioners-Pretty obvious really.
6: It takes 20-35 minutes to charge the fitted battery- this can be a pain as you can not wait to fly this little bird more and more- To charge by remote takes longer and soon burns out your AA remote batteries - Use the USB supplied- hell quicker to charge.
7: Another tip: After a flight with any fixed battery helicopter a good idea is to let the battery cool down before you recharge-Reason being it will preserve the battery longer as they do get warm -That is why I have a few Syma helicopters being charged by my USB- So look for good deals to buy two-Only my view.
8: One small issue I had was flying backwards-The heli looses altitude and gets a little bogged down, it does go backwards but real slow. If you are looking for big flying speed backwards this heli might not be for you. I never fly backwards can not see the point prefer forward and spins. There is a modification on tail rotor. Did try it and yes makes a difference but burns up battery power if flying backwards all the time-Syma S107 left as it is to me just great. Want more from your heli buy a bigger more expensive one.
The Great Points:
Where to start: This is without doubt the best little mother heli I have owned-it is so stable. As soon as you stop going forward or back, she just hovers awaiting your next move-problem I found was I just got so cocky flying the bird that I started to dive bomb my dog who eventually won out by jumping from a chair and grabbing it in its mouth -Pain for both-The dog won, hence I bought two more Syma S107.
But from my heart this great helicopter at it's price that you should be able to buy for around $20- $25 shipped is the best value in life, and will give kids from 8 to a old fart like me at 60yrs old the greatest fun ever- I get excited every time this bird is charged and ready to fly- As I have 6 of them now my poor old computer is constantly charging my Syma 107. I am "Excited"
To be really honest I am amazed at the quality of the Syma S 107 for the price. I would have liked to see a better remote not being infra red and a bit more robust, however it does the job, and again for the price one can not really complain. Have seen replacement remotes for $11 should you break yours-not good idea to drop it on concrete floor!
I am working on some modifications with battery. I have one stripped to the bones at the moment as like a kid want to see how it works so well-you need a small screw driver set for this.
Screwdriver Set What I did was rub a magnet on the required screw driver to magnetize it so able to hold the very small screws to the screw driver, helps a lot.
Would I Buy The 107G Syma
100% Yes from me!
WHERE TO BUY THE SYMA S107 WITH SAFETY
Here are my trusted links below that I have personally bought from- I am always trying to find the best value, but also genuine Syma's sold with trust and back up to return if defective in anyway.
For Syma Helicopters:
I have purchased many RC Helicopters and Drones from Amazon - Yes good experience.. Just search on site for Syma, heaps to view.
I have posted a Syma S107 Spare parts page
All the Syma Helicopters That I have bought from Amazon have not been fakes also any problems Amazon have a return policy.
Yes you can buy cheap Syma S107 spare parts- View Here
I do not recommend buying from Ebay as there are too many fakes there, I found out myself buying 4 all fakes and never flew out of the box.

How many distance are this flying
This is a heli with infra red remote and is for flying indoors or say in a big enclosure, flying outside is not recommended
We have a S107. It will only hover a few inches off the ground. Replaced the battery but it still will not fly higher than a few inches. Blades spin, no signs of obvious damage anywhere. Any thoughts on what to try?

do you recomend any ebay sellers?
ive never soldered before but i have borrowed my mates and will give it a go….
I have a s107g but when I try to fly, it takes off but speeds up and disides to go in different directions then crashes. Any ideas?

My son got a Syma S107G-Yellow X000SU7NC1 for Christmas. It worked briefly but seems like the remote is not pairing up with the helicopter. I have tried to turn on the remote and get a flashing green light then turn the copter on and the flashing green light turns solid but still no response. Any suggestions?
Hi,have you tried changing the channel on remote? Is the Syma107 fully charged, have you had any bad crashes? When you turn on remote the green light should be solid not flashing, try changing batteries in remote, if you are charging heli via remote uses the power of batteries quickly. Also allow 15 minutes before charging heli to let the lipo battery cool down, otherwise will not last long. Our Forum has lots of help here.
hello i have the syma s107 and havent used it in a few years and i charged it and the lights came on but i didnt hear any noise of movement from the heli any suggestions?
Hi,After a few years not being used suspect the lipo battery in heli not holding charge, you need to replace it, some soldering required view here how to change battery.
Hi, I’m newbie with s107g, I have a problem the helicopter flies in circles and vibrates, after many falls, you will not see damage.
How I can fix that piece change?
I leave a video.

Thank you very much, greetings.

Hi,It looks like your battery is a problem as not lifting from the floor, or main shaft problem. Please check out link to forum for help.Link to shaft repair.
Thank you for answering, the battery is not then be the axis, I hope it is only the part in the video, change the entire axis will be difficult for me.
I have to get the parts, I hope to hear repaired.
Thank you very much and greetings.
Carlos, before you start buying parts consider maybe to buy a new heli and keep your old one for parts, just a idea.Any help please check out the forum http://syma107.com/forum/ lots of help there.
Hi I just dug out my syma107 from my closet, charged it, and tried to fly it. It started good but couldn’t get any lift. It would just hover a bit and float to the floor. I looked up possible causes and it seemed like it could be the battery so I ordered a replacement even though I previously installed an upgraded battery for more speed. But before soldering the new battery in, I noticed a black wire disconnected that reaches from the motherboard (where one of the battery wires meet) and rests disconnected by the front motor. It isn’t long enough to reach much past that motor but after looking at a ton of pictures to possibly locate where it should be, I still have no idea! Please help!
We have only flown are helicopter once. We plugged it in this morning to charge and unplugged it now. I have successfully connected the remote, but the helicopter won’t take off. There are no lights on the helicopter at all. There are no lights flashing or steady. When I plug the cable in no lights come on or flash. Think my helicopter battery is already completely fried and dead after one flight?
Where did you purchase your heli from? If only flown once I would contact the seller.Sounds like battery problem, i have come across only a few helis that have been sitting on the shelf in shops for a long time and the battery will not hold charge.
Amazon. I’ll contact them today. Not sure if I will be able to return it without original box, etc. I was hoping for an easy fix. 🙁 Thanks for the help!
Hi Wendy, a simple fix is to solder in a new battery but do not touch the heli until you talk with Amazon as they have a great return policy and the seller on Amazon does not want a bad review from you.Lipo batteries with care can last some years others are bad from day one, just the world of lipos
I got mine over 2 and a half years ago. The battery died withing 2 weeks. I bought a replacement battery on eBay and it lasted until a few days ago. I just bought another battery. If they do not accept a return, I would say replace the battery. It isn’t hard but some care is needed. Plus this way you know the battery is new and not in a 3 year old heli sitting on a shelf.
Thanks, AL. Wrote Amazon this a.m. Waiting to here back. Do you have a good place to buy replacement parts cheaper/better than amazon? Amazon is just so easy… 😉
Hi Wendy, I get my stuff on eBay. When it comes to batteries, there are a few things you need to make sure of. It needs to be a 20C discharge rate at least and the capacity is 180mAh I think. Mine is a 240mAh with a discharge rate of 30C but it requires modification to get it to fit. I say stick with the stock one. Please note that after it dies from a constant run that the battery is VERY hot. It must be allowed to cool before it charges. Once charged, the battery is again very hot. Allow it to cool before you use it. That is a sure fire way to get the battery to last a long time. I ruined my first one in 2 weeks from constant operation. What can I say, its fun! Since then I have been using it often without any issues and it is going on 3 years of age.
I have 2 of these helicopters. We have tried changing one of them to the B setting on the remote but can’t find how to change the frequency on the helicopter and we are unable to get either helicopter to operate on B setting frequency so we can operate both at the same time.
Hi
My son got a present of one of these and he played with it for around 15 minutes last night, it began to lose power, so he plugged it into the USB charger and then went to bed. My husband noticed the lights flashing for quite a long time and then no lights at all and this morning the helicopter won’t work at all. Any ideas? can it be over charged?
thanks for any help with this, my son is heart broken :O(
Sorry late reply: Well the first thing is you have a lipo battery in helicopter which take some care. First let battery cool down for at least 15 minutes before recharging as will result in bloated battery that will not take a charge. Never leave a lipo on charge all night,
Now try charging by remote, if does that suspect a dud usb cable, I know having many helis that a usb cable can be faulty.

Where did you buy from? I will help you get another Syma Heli, contact me.
I have three grandchildren and four S107Gs. Can you fly two or more S107Gs at the same time?
Yes you can- check forum post Here
My son’s Syma S107 was working beautifully but now when he tries to lift it off the ground, it simply spins around and around. The main rotors just spin but it does not lift off. The gears seem clean of hair or fibres, and the blades seem tight. It has been fully charged.
Any suggestions?
Have you checked our forum for help on repairs? Sounds like you have TBA(Toilet bowl effect) link here Also a video third one on page here
I did check the forums and have already watched this video. Unfortunately the repair is way beyond anything I could do. Do you know of anyone who accepts repairs, who I could mail the heli off to?
Do you have a local model shop close by that might be able to help? The problem is it could cost you more to get someone to repair your heli than buying a new one.Keep us posted.
Thank you for your help. No model shop anywhere near where we live and, given that we waited over 2 months for the heli to arrive, I fear that our Syma days are over 🙁 It was good while it lasted!
You may have to replace the plastic part that attaches the main rotor to the blades. It has two little knobs that might be broken
Thanks. Could you possibly show me a picture of the part I might need?

My helicopter has worked well in the past, but now the remote control has the blinking green light. I tried the solution of filing the throttle (I even removed the cover to see if that was the problem), but this did not fix it. The throttle button (left) goes all the way down with the cover removed, and the green light still blinks. Any suggestions?
Have you dropped the remote at all?
Hi Syma Freak,
Thanks for your reply. I can’t really say whether the remote was dropped or not because my son also played with it. So, the answer to your question would be, perhaps. If so, could anything be done?
Cheers,
Acacio
Really rather than buy a new remote I feel better to buy a new heli and keep the old one for spares, here is a video to show you the inside of remote, might help to see if any wires have broken solder joints- here
We seem to have an issue with the S107 remote and chopper communicating. If the chopper gets more than a couple feet from the remote it loses signal and falls to the ground. If we stand directly behind the chopper when flying, the remote signal remains connected; but as soon as the chopper gets more than a few feet away it no longer connects. Any ideas?
Hi Mark, are you flying near anything digital like a TV? The remote is infra red and can get effected by digital interference, also near a computer, try flying in another room.
Thanks for your reply. We thought of that; but we have tried it in different rooms and have the same impact. How far away should the helicopter be able to get from the remote? My son literally has to walk within 2 feet of it and if the tail of the helicopter isn’t facing the remote, the signal is lost and the copter falls to ground. We have a wireless router downstairs, but this happens in every room of the house.
Hi Mark,
Direct sunlight will also interfere with the controls.
Hi, I just received my new s107 for a Christmas gift and after USB charging and putting new batts in the remote all that happens when I turn it on is , front flashing lights on the front of the helicopter and the little green light flashes a bit then turns solid green in the rear, while the remote is turned on and the light turns green , I give it some throttle and nothing happens! All show no go! Did I get a lemon? Tried pairing with A and B , all with same results……any advise would be nice…thx
Try binding by turning remote on first then heli, if never worked out of the box consider returning, where did you purchase from?
Ive tried before and after… 🙁 I got the hell as a gift on christmas and it came from Amazon,,,called them and since they were the ones filling the order and since none were left in stock i was SOL they credited my account with the price of the heli……woohoo 15 dollars but no 107.. i will have to order it from another provider and amazon will ship it.. looking forward to my new one…..they did let me keep the first one…parts i guess??
Amazon are good, yes great keep the old one for spares.
Hi, just got this for Christmas present and was able to control it, for a while…had lost control and it crashed into wall. Now when I try to lift off up it goes sideways. Is there something that I need to adjust? This is really cool and this 62 year young grandpa wants to play!!
thanx,
Mike
Try this link to forum for help-HERE
Thanx for the link…however I won’t need it…. I kind of figured out the problem. It was ME, being way too cautious (very slow) on take off, plus I was starting from a carpet. Once I put it on hardwood floor and gave it a little gusto, I was back to having fun. Sent my Grandson a video of me flying last night. Can’t wait to visit him so we can fly together – He’s got a big RC heli (a Syma F1 2.4C). Looking forward to that day!!
thanx again,
Mike
I just recieved one yesterday and all was well until a not so glorious landing (not hard though). Now the lower main blades continue to spin even with the battery off and there is not enough power to take off anymore. Everything else appears to work ok. Is this one of the main rotor motors or is there something else deeper?
Hi Shawn, this link will take you to our forum and a video to show you what could be wrong after your crash http://syma107.com/forum/frequent-syma-107-problems-and-how-to-fix/syma-s107-main-shaft-repair/ how to repair dog bone on main shaft.
My helicopter is perfect but my remote is showing no sign of power but I changed the battery multiple times using only new batteries.
Some times the connectors for the batteries in the remote bend away from a good contact, check that , also have you dropped the remote at all onto a hard surface?
Hello there,
I just bought a syma x5c and fully charged the battery.
The problem is that it won’t lift off the ground although it looks that it’s working full speed.
Any idea why.
Hi, not to be silly but seems to me your battery is not fully charged, how long did you give the charge?
My boys heli is acting weird. The top blades have a slight out of balance/wobble to them. When trying to take off it will go up but immediately go sideways.
Check out our forum for repairs Here
I have 2 new S107G for my sons. Out of the box, one of the controllers seems to cause the tail rotor to activate constantly, leading the craft to crash forward as soon as it’s off the ground. Is there any reset to the controller or receiver unit on the aircraft to solve this problem. Also, the controller has an A and B at the top of the console. Is it possible to fly two machines simultaneously or is the IR signal not specific to a paired aircraft.
Thanks

Hi There, i have bought the Syma107, the first time i charged it and used it was fine no issues but then it needed to be charged, i charged it and have charged it twice the propellers spin for about 3 seconds then stop, i charged it again and the same happened again, when i put the throttle to full its judders and then stopped, i thought it was the batterys in my reomte control but after changing them the same problem wtill occured, can you help?
Hi, how did you charge the Syma by usb or remote? If by usb you need to wait until the usb glows red when first plug in light will go out as charging when glowing bright red the heli is charged, always wait 15 minutes after flying before charging to let battery cool down before recharge as will give longer life to the battery in the heli
hi there
I charged from the mains power using my phone charger plug which has the USB output, are you saying dont charge from the mains electricity and only from the remote or PC?
my S107 remote control helicopter was flying for like a month or so…….the blades are moving but my heli wont fly up in the air…..what could be the problem??
Hi, please check the forum for help, a lot of information there http://syma107.com/forum
Sounds like the battery isn’t accepting an adequate charge.
Does the prop spin feel as strong as it had been before? And if you keep the throttle on high does the high-speed spin last or does it fade quickly.
Important question: Had you been allowing the battery to cool down before and after recharging between uses? If not it is likely its storage capacity is depleted.
Changing batteries is inevitable if you enjoy flying these little machines, so you might as well get started with that now. Order a battery (via Amazon) and get started with that process.
Good Day,
What is the gauge of wire used in the S-107?
Robert
Robert,
I can’t tell you what the gauge is but I would estimate it to be about 26 ga.
Okay, I made a mistake. I ordered another Syma from Lightake because we are enjoying the first one so much. This time I ordered it really early before the birthday celebration, after my experience last time… and Lightake have let me down again!
I ordered the heli almost 2 months ago, on 10th March. A few days ago I emailed Lightake to see where it was, only to find that it has not yet been sent! My account status says it was shipped on that date and I received an email on the 13th March to say that it was on its way. This was intended as a birthday gift and I ordered it with plenty of time to go. Now it is going to be late unless it is shipped express – and Lightake are refusing to do so unless I pay extra! I am shocked at their terrible service. They have taken my money, not sent the goods and never notified me about a delay.
Any suggestions as to what I can do this time?
That is very upsetting- Well you need to bombard them with emails and a call if possible, must admit never had any problems with them, not like crooks on Ebay I am still fighting with to get my money back on a juicer I bought 3 months age never turned up and seller gone
I have bombarded them with mails. I couldn’t find a phone number. In the end I wrote back to the person I dealt with last time I bought from Lightake – and not the person who had replied to my initial email – and she has been quite helpful. They are (hopefully) mailing me another heli tomorrow, but I probably won’t get it in time for the birthday in June. Utterly ridiculous when I made the order at the beginning of March! I will NOT be shopping with Lightake again and will have to find another way to purchase Syma helis. They are terrific!
Good luck with your ebay problem 🙁
I agree, I will take them off my website as feel they have let you down, my belief but can not prove it is they have become dropshippers which means they hold no stock but send the orders into another supplier, however when that supplier runs out of stock you have to wait, look I could be wrong.Just tried another company cost me $25 for postage which I did not see until purchased, hence I love Amazon.Go to contact on the site and email me all your info and any direct emails you have for me to contact them, also your email and name you purchase under, I want to stir them up, might help worth a try.
Keep me posted on this, I am going to send them a email as well for you
BTW, Betty is the person to contact at customer services. She has at least replied to my emails, which the other representative was failing to do. I have been waiting to hear where my order was since last Friday, so another week wasted…
Amazingly my order arrived today – much quicker than I had expected it and much, much quicker than my previous order! I am glad it is here but would hesitate/probably not use this company again.
Thank you Lisa for letting us know you received the heli ok-I bought a Syma107C from Banggood and arrived in Australia in 11 days, you might want to try them next time.Take care.
Thank you for that tip! I appreciate it.
Great little chopper. Lovely to fly. The only sad thing is that it does not allow easy swapping of batteries, so you only get 6 minutes per 45 minutes of flying time. I will look to modify this so I can use a few spare batteries.
Have you checked the forum for mods? http://syma107.com/forum
I agree with your observation that the 107 will loose altitude going backwards – but you may want to point out it gains altitude going forward. So if it is hovering, it will climb if it starts forward. This can be a problem inside under a low ceiling. I have learned to adjust the throttle to be descending very slowly before going forward and then the copter will maintain altitude. This is all caused by the fact that the tail rotor pushes upward going forward and downward in reverse.
Another thing I learned early was NOT to try to ease it off the floor on take-off or it will skitter sideways and crash. Its best to hit the throttle and get it off the floor at least a couple of feet quickly – and then ease off on the power and let it stabilize.
Great review!
Great comment, sounds like you fly heaps, keep posting, try our forum http://syma107.com/forum
I got my new syma s107 helicopter. i am a first time user. i was amazed to see the stability of the flight.
One thing i noticed is that you need to charge the heli first time for about 40-45 minutes and then only fly it else you may feel as if its not flying correctly.
The flight time is lee though 5 mins. But its amazing to see it fly with ease and totally under your control.

Welcome to the fun of the Syma 107
I saw your suggestion to order from Lightake and ordered a Syma S107 on December 29th for my son’s birthday. My order is still not here (and the birthday has been and gone) and each time I contact Lightake they just keep telling me to wait.
I wonder if you have had any lost orders with Lightake and how you have dealt with them if you have.
Many thanks!
Hi Lisa, had no problems with them, just maybe they are catching up with Christmas orders and Chinese New Year, keep us posted on this
Will do! I do hope it turns up or else I will have a very disappointed son.
Did you get your heli?
No, still not. Lightake will only accept that it is lost after 3 months – then end of March. Extremely disappointing.
I am really upset to hear this, I am going to send them a email myself- have you had your money returned?
No, they have not returned my money and say that they will not declare the item lost until 3 months have passed. In the meantime my 11 year old son, whom the heli was purchased for, asks every day if his birthday present has turned up yet. It simply should not take this long to get to me!
It arrived! It took a looooong time to get here, but it’s here. We are looking forward to playing with out new heli. Thank you for your concern, Syma Freak.
@Lisa, great to hear, thank you for letting us know
That’s enough for me. I would never order anything from that vendor. In fact, I’m not aware of any reason for ordering from any vendor other than Amazon — which is as safe and as reliable as it gets. If I can get it from Amazon, why go elsewhere?
Mike K, I ordered from that vendor and not from Amazon because Amazon’s shipping to the Israel, where I live, is always almost as much as the item I am purchasing, if not more. This vendor offered free shipping. I must add that their customer service was excellent – that they always answered my questions. It was the time it took for the shipping that I have an issue with.
Hello, I got one as a gift for Christmas and I must say, I have not been able to put it down….that is, until yesterday. The red lamp in the USB wall charger will not go off. It does dim ever so slightly when plugged into the Heli but does not charge (heli is off). When I leave the heli plugged in for 40 min or so, there is no change, nor has it taken a charge. The remote, which I never use, remains green when plugged into the charging port on the helicopter. I am using a USB a/c adapter to charge it, not a computer. It has never gotten wet though has endured 3-4 rougher landings though on carpet. The last time I used it, it lasted as long as it usually does until I landed it nicely on the floor. Sat it down until the next day and — nada. Wont charge. Wiggling the wires (a technical term) had yielded nothing. I would say I have gone through 40 or so battery cycles. The blinking light works as does the green lamp on the circuit board. Poor little guy just doesn’t have enough juice to fly. Nothing smells weird and there are no signs of burns. Any help is appreciated.
I did find this:
http://syma107.com/forum/general-syma-s107-information/s107-wont-charge/
but it seems that nothing applies to mine.
Thanks!
Sounds like the battery got damaged. You can order a replacement “syma 107 battery” for a reasonable cost on Amazon or elsewhere. Be careful not to short it when installing.
I’ve had batteries go bad on me like that. After a flight, be sure to let the battery rest for at least 15-20 minutes. One flight after another will wreck it.
If you like these helis, get a few of them and get used to the idea of fixing them and having a “spare parts” heli or two around. They’re by far the cheapest and handiest source of spare parts.
After a while “safe” flights get dull and you’ll want to try harder stuff (like landing on the tilted blades of a (turned off) ceiling fan 10′ up, that kind of thing.
You get pretty good at repairing them.

Don is very correct, the only input I can put in is wait at least 10 mins after a flight to let the battery cool down before recharging, you could take the canopy off to see if the battery is bloated or maybe weeping, then you know needs replacing. If you have a digital multimeter like this one here for $7 handy to check the battery, keep us posted.
